Four substrates — the right one depends on your use case
Standee cut-out substrate choice is determined by how long the standee will be displayed, whether it will be moved, and the environment. We advise at the order stage.
The standard substrate for single-use events, product launches, and same-day activations. Lightweight, easy to transport, and the most cost-effective option for short-duration display (1–7 days). UV-printed direct to board. Contour-cut to shape with a clean, sealed edge. Not suitable for outdoor or humid environments. Best for: events, one-day activations, DWTC / ADNEC exhibitions.
Premium rigid foam board with a harder, denser core and smooth white surface. More resistant to denting and edge damage during handling and transport than standard foam board. The correct substrate for standees that will be deployed repeatedly across multiple events or stored between uses. Best for: roadshows, multi-event deployments, retail standees used weekly.
Lightweight, waterproof, and UV-resistant corrugated polypropylene sheet. The only substrate suitable for outdoor standee cut-out use in the UAE. UV-printed direct to the plastic surface with UV-resistant inks. Will not delaminate, absorb moisture, or warp in the UAE heat and humidity. Best for: outdoor retail, beach events, outdoor activations, car parks.
Aluminium composite panel for standees that will be displayed in high-traffic areas, exposed to repeated handling, or used as semi-permanent in-store displays. Dibond will not dent, bend, or deform under normal handling. For large life-size standees (over 170cm), Dibond is the only substrate that will remain flat and upright under its own weight without bowing. Best for: permanent retail displays, high-traffic lobbies, branded kiosks.
The cut edge is where cheap standees show their quality.
A standee cut-out is only as good as its contour cut. A life-size person standee with jagged edges around the hair, fingers, or clothing detail looks unprofessional regardless of how good the print is. The cut is the product — the print is the content. We cut all standees on CNC routing equipment, not manual blade cutters, so the contour follows the artwork path exactly at every point.
The same applies to the easel back. A standee that leans forward at a 10-degree angle or tips under its own weight in the first hour of display is a problem that started with the easel design, not the display environment.

Standees are almost always ordered against an event deadline. We run UV flatbed printing and CNC contour cutting in-house at our Ajman factory, so there is no outsourcing step between artwork approval and the finished standee. Standard foam board and Kapa Mount orders are ready in 24 hours. No minimum quantity — one standee to 500 receives the same production standard.

Common questions about standee cut-outs
- 5mm foam board for single events and short-term use (1–7 days). Kapa Mount (10mm) for standees that will be reused across multiple events or deployed in retail for several weeks. 5mm corrugated plastic (Corflute) for any outdoor use — it is the only waterproof option. 3mm Dibond for permanent or semi-permanent retail displays and standees taller than 170cm that need to remain rigid under their own weight.
- For the print: PDF (press-ready), AI (fonts outlined), or high-resolution JPG/PNG at 150dpi at actual size minimum. CMYK colour mode. Include 5mm bleed on all sides. For the cut path: a vector outline of the cut shape as a separate layer is ideal but not required — if you don't have one, we prepare it from the image outline.
- Yes — face cut-out standees are a standard request. The face hole is CNC-cut from the board at the correct position in the artwork. We recommend Kapa Mount as the minimum substrate for face cut-out standees — foam board develops cracks around the face hole edge under repeated use.
- Foam board and Kapa Mount standees: 24 hours from artwork approval. Corrugated plastic: 24–48 hours. Dibond: 2–3 working days (heavier fabrication for the aluminium stand). For same-day emergency orders, contact us on WhatsApp before 10am.
- Any size — we cut to the dimensions of your artwork. Standard life-size standees are typically 150–200cm tall. Product standees can be any size from 30cm table-top formats to 3m+ oversized display formats. Our UV flatbed printer accommodates boards up to 2.5m × 1.25m in a single pass — larger standees are printed in sections and assembled.
- Yes — all foam board and Kapa Mount standees include a fold-out cardboard easel back, sized to the specific standee height and weight. Dibond standees include a fabricated aluminium stand. The easel is attached and the standee is ready to display from the box.
- For Dibond standees with a fabricated aluminium stand: yes — the board panel can be replaced while the stand is reused. For foam board and Kapa Mount: the easel back is attached to the board and comes with the board as a single unit — each new graphic is a new standee with its own easel.
