Most outdoor signs in Dubai require a Dubai Municipality sign permit before any fixing goes into the wall. Installing without one risks a stop-notice, removal at your own cost, and a compliance record on the building. The permit is not complicated — if you know the process.
We have submitted hundreds of DM sign permit applications and know what each submission needs: site plan, sign elevation with dimensions, structural calculations where required, building owner NOC, and a copy of the trade licence. We prepare the full package and submit. You do not visit any government office.

- Yes — almost all outdoor shopfront signs in Dubai require a Dubai Municipality sign permit before installation. This applies to fascia signs, 3D letter signs, backlit boxes, pylon signs, and canopy signs on DM-jurisdiction properties. We manage the full permit process — you don't visit any government office.
- Typically 2–4 weeks from submission to DM approval. The timeline depends on whether the submission is complete first time, whether structural calculations are required, and DM's current workload. We prepare complete submissions to minimise re-submission risk.
- Mall tenants need two approvals: first from the mall management sign team, then from Dubai Municipality. The mall approval comes first — DM will not issue a permit without evidence of landlord consent. We have experience with the sign manuals for most major UAE retail malls.
- Signs fade quickly in Dubai when they are specified with materials designed for temperate European climates. Standard vinyl inks without UV-stable overlaminate fade within 12–18 months in direct Dubai sun. We specify UV-cured inks, UV-stable overlaminates, and PVDF-coated ACM as standard.
- A backlit sign board has LED modules inside the sign box, illuminating the sign face from behind — the face is translucent. A frontlit sign board is externally illuminated — LED flood or spot lights shine onto an opaque sign face. Backlit signs are brighter at night; frontlit signs are lower-profile.
- Yes — structural engineering is included as standard for all pylon signs. Our licensed UAE structural engineer produces wind-load calculations, foundation design, and stamped drawings for the DM permit submission.
- With correctly specified UAE-rated materials, a building or storefront sign should last 5–10 years with minimal maintenance. We warrant print and surface finish for 5 years and structural integrity for 10 years.
- Yes — we match Pantone and RAL references exactly. For painted or powder-coated elements, we produce a colour-matched sample panel for your approval before the full sign is painted.
