Showroom Signs in the UAE

Showroom signage built for the road, the facade and the brand

Showroom signage is the coordinated set of signs a big-box showroom needs: large illuminated facade letters or a logo readable from the main road, a totem or pylon at the entrance, glazing graphics on the glass frontage, and interior signs for reception, service, parts and delivery. Car dealerships, furniture and kitchen showrooms, tile and sanitaryware traders and equipment dealers on Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Quoz, Sharjah's industrial areas and the Abu Dhabi corridors all need some version of this.

At this scale a sign behaves like a small structure. Letters over a metre high need internal frames, deep returns and service access, and they are fixed to curtain walls or cladding that must not be damaged. The mounting frame has to span between mullions, beams or slab edges and carry wind load. And the brand's own manual, often written on another continent, has to fit local approval rules. Our draftsmen detail all of this in the shop drawing, and we weld the frames ourselves.

Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, with 15 years in the UAE, and our Ajman factory has built large-format signs since 2016. CNC routing, laser cutting, steel frame welding, powder coating and LED assembly all happen at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, so the frame, the letters and the lighting are designed to fit each other, and our high-access installation crews fit what our fabricators built.

Our process

How we deliver showroom signage from our Ajman factory

  1. Survey from the road

We measure viewing distance from the main road and approach routes, not the car park, photograph the facade and collect curtain wall and cladding drawings. The survey is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Brand manual and shop drawings

Our designers apply the brand's sign manual, and draftsmen prepare shop drawings, structural plans and bracket details that line fixings up with mullions or slab edges.

  3. Facade coordination

We share bracket drawings with the facade contractor or engineer for review, so the sign does not compromise the curtain wall or its warranty, and resolve comments before any steel is cut.

  4. Frame welding and letter fabrication

Galvanised steel frames are welded and finished in our steel shop, letters are CNC-routed and built in sections with internal frames, and every section is lit at full brightness in our test area.

  5. Staged installation

Frames go up first using a boom lift or crane, often outside opening hours, then letter sections are lifted, joined and wired back to drivers in an accessible enclosure.

  6. Totems, glazing and handover

Totems are set on foundations prepared in advance, glazing graphics and interior signs follow, and the whole package is checked after dark before the warranty is handed over.

Expert advice

Advice from our estimating team

Showroom signs go wrong in expensive ways when they are designed from the car park or from a brand manual alone. These are the checks we insist on.

Size the letters from the highway, not the forecourt

Letters that look huge standing in the car park can be unreadable from the road. A working rule is about 25 mm of letter height for every 3 m of reading distance, so a facade read from 150 m needs letters of roughly 1.2 to 1.5 m. Strong, familiar logos can be smaller than words, because drivers recognise a symbol before they can read text. We mock the sign onto a photo taken from the road.

Bring in the facade engineer early

Fixing heavy letters to curtain walls or cladding without coordination can damage the building or void the facade warranty. We never drill glass. Brackets land on mullions, transoms or slab edges, and the facade contractor usually wants to review our bracket drawing. That review can shift letter spacing slightly from the brand drawing, so it is better done before the brand signs off.

Get brand approval before fabrication

Many car and franchise brands must approve sign drawings before anything is made, and a sign built to the wrong revision of the manual may be rejected and remade at the dealer's cost. Send us the current manual and the brand contact, and we will submit drawings for approval in parallel with the authority submission so neither holds the other up.

Put Arabic where it works best

International manuals often show only the English brand, while local rules may expect Arabic as well. Rather than squeezing an Arabic line under a strict facade logo, we often place the Arabic name on the entrance totem or portal, where it reads at a closer distance and the facade still matches the manual. We check the trade licence wording for both.

Plan maintenance access now

A sign 12 m up a facade with no safe way to reach it turns every failed driver into a crane hire. Agree a lift route, anchor points or a roof access position during design, keep drivers in an accessible enclosure rather than inside the letters, and build letters in sections so one can be removed without disturbing the rest.

Pricing

Showroom sign price in Dubai: what affects the cost

Showroom packages are quoted from drawings, brand manuals and site access. Send facade photos and drawings, the brand manual and the elements you need, and we usually send an itemised quote within 24 hours, with fabrication, structure, installation and permits on separate lines.

Letter size and number

Large letters use more aluminium, acrylic and LEDs and need internal frames. A full brand name in metre-high letters is a significant fabrication job.

Mounting and structure

Custom steel frames, curtain wall brackets and engineering checks can be a large share of the cost, especially on glass facades and tall buildings.

Brand specification

Brand standards may fix materials, colours, LED types and construction details. Meeting them exactly can cost more than a generic sign but avoids rejection.

Lighting type

Front-lit letters are usually the most economical lit option at large sizes. Halo, front-and-back-lit or RGB lighting adds complexity and cost.

Access and installation

Cranes, boom lifts and permits for working at height add to installation cost, along with night or weekend work.

Additional elements

Totems, glazing graphics, interior brand walls and wayfinding all add scope, though doing them together saves design and installation visits.

Approvals

Showroom signage permits and structural approvals

Large facade signs and totems usually need approval from Dubai Municipality, Sharjah Municipality, Ajman Municipality or the free-zone authority for your plot, and signs facing major roads may also need RTA input on position, size and brightness. Submissions for big signs often include structural plans and wind-load details as well as elevations, which our technical draftsmen prepare alongside the shop drawings.

On managed buildings and master-planned districts, the landlord or master developer usually reviews the sign first, and the facade contractor may need to confirm that the fixings are acceptable. Requirements vary by site and change over time, so we confirm the current rules for your exact address before fabrication starts.

FAQ

Showroom Signs questions we are asked most

How much does showroom signage cost in Dubai?

It depends mostly on the letter size and number, the mounting structure, the brand specification and access for installation. A set of front-lit facade letters on a concrete parapet costs far less than metre-high letters on a curtain wall with a totem and glazing package. Send us facade photos, drawings and the brand manual, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

How big should showroom facade letters be?

It depends on how far away the sign must be read. As a guide, allow about 25 mm of letter height for every 3 m of reading distance. For a showroom seen from a highway 150 to 200 m away, letters of about 1.2 to 1.6 m are typical, and we make letters up to 2.5 m high. Familiar logos can be smaller.

Can signs be fixed to a curtain wall glass facade?

Yes, but never by drilling through the glass. Signs are fixed to mullions, transoms or slab edges with brackets designed with the facade contractor or engineer, or a separate support frame is used. This protects the facade and its warranty while keeping the sign secure. Expect the facade contractor to review our bracket drawing.

Do car showroom signs have to follow the brand's standards?

In most cases, yes. Car manufacturers and many international brands have detailed sign manuals covering sizes, colours, materials and lighting, and dealers usually need brand approval before fabrication. We work to the manual and raise local conflicts early, such as a required Arabic line or a depth limit the manual did not anticipate.

Facade letters or a pylon: which matters more for a showroom?

It depends on where drivers first see the site. If the facade faces the main road with a clear view, facade letters do most of the work and a small totem marks the entrance. If the building sits behind other plots or at an angle to the road, a pylon at the frontage usually does more. Many showrooms need both.

What lighting works best for showroom signs?

Front-lit letters are usually the most visible and economical for long distances. Halo-lit letters suit premium brands but read softer, and front-and-back-lit letters combine reach with a halo. The sign should read from the road without glaring at drivers, so we usually fit dimmable drivers and set brightness on site after dark.

How long does a showroom signage project take?

It depends on the size of the package, brand approval and permits, so we give you a realistic schedule with the quote rather than a generic figure. Large letters and steel frames need more workshop time than standard signs. Starting brand and authority approvals early keeps the programme on track, because approvals, not fabrication, usually set the opening date.

Can you maintain or repair large showroom signs?

Yes. We inspect facade letters for loose fixings, water entry and failed LEDs, ideally once or twice a year with a lift, and repair or replace individual letter sections when needed. Because we keep the drawings for signs we make, replacement parts match the original. See our sign maintenance contracts for planned visits.
