4mm ACM panel mounted on a steel frame, with a recessed LED strip cove at the top or bottom edge that washes light across the panel face. The most cost-effective frontlit option — clean look, no external fixtures visible from the front. Standard on industrial and commercial units.
ACM or aluminium panel illuminated by external LED spotlights or floodlights mounted on arm brackets above or below the sign. Spotlights can be aimed and focused precisely. Best for signs where a cove LED would not provide sufficient spread — large panels, wide fascias, and building-top signs.
ACM or aluminium panel with digitally printed or cut-vinyl brand graphics — no lighting. Relies on ambient daylight and existing building or street lighting at night. The lowest-cost sign board option. Suitable for warehouse gates, industrial unit names, and sites where nighttime trading is not a priority.
3mm Dibond (solid aluminium composite) — thinner and lighter than standard 4mm ACM but stiffer. UV-printed directly on the surface. Ideal for smaller signs, real estate boards, directional signs, and any application where weight and thickness must be minimised.

- A frontlit sign board is a solid (opaque) panel illuminated by external light sources — LED strip, spotlights, or floodlights — pointing at the sign face from outside. A backlit sign board is a box with a translucent face that is illuminated from inside. Backlit gives a more uniform glow and is brighter at night. Frontlit is lower cost, simpler to maintain, and allows solid panel materials like ACM, stainless steel, or aluminium.
- Yes — with correctly specified LED floodlights or spotlights. A well-designed frontlit sign with IP65 LED floodlights at the correct lux level is clearly legible at night. The difference is that a backlit sign's face glows uniformly, while a frontlit sign reflects light — meaning bright spots near the fixtures and slightly less even distribution across the face. For most commercial applications, frontlit is perfectly adequate at night.
- Yes. All external signs in Dubai — illuminated or not — require a Dubai Municipality permit. Non-illuminated signs still require a sign permit; they just do not require an electrical connection approval. We handle all permit applications as part of our service.
- UV-cured inks directly on ACM last 5–7 years in UAE outdoor conditions before any noticeable fading. Cut vinyl on ACM (using Oracal 651 or 3M IJ series) lasts 3–5 years. We do not use solvent-based inkjet prints on outdoor signs — these fade within 12–18 months in UAE sun exposure.
- A non-illuminated ACM panel sign (1.2m × 0.6m, cut-vinyl brand) starts from approximately AED 600–1,200. A frontlit ACM sign board with LED strip cove (3m × 0.8m) typically ranges AED 2,500–5,000. Spotlight-lit signs cost slightly more due to the fixture cost. Stainless steel or premium panel signs are quoted individually. Contact us for a site-specific quote.
- A standard frontlit ACM sign board (up to 4m wide) is typically fabricated in 3–7 working days from approved artwork — faster than backlit signs because there is no internal LED layout to engineer. Rush orders are often possible — contact us with your deadline.
- Yes. For rebrands or graphic updates, we replace only the ACM face panel — the steel frame stays fixed to the wall. This is significantly cheaper than a full sign replacement. We can also re-skin with new vinyl over the existing ACM if the substrate is still flat and clean.
- Yes. Construction hoarding signs are one of our most common frontlit jobs — especially in Ajman and Dubai Industrial City. We produce municipality-compliant hoarding sign designs (correct logo size, disclaimer text, and emergency contact requirements) and install on the hoarding steel frame. Temporary signs do not always require a standard sign permit, but we confirm the requirement for each project.
