Outdoor advertising in the UAE is one of the most regulated sign categories. Every format — from a fence banner to a unipole — requires prior written approval from at least one government authority before installation begins. The authority varies by location, sign type, and whether it affects public roads.
Installing without a NOC means the authority can order removal at your cost, and you have no recourse. We have submitted hundreds of outdoor advertising NOC applications across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and UAE free zones. We know what each authority requires and we manage the process.

Common questions about outdoor advertising signs
- Yes — all public-facing outdoor advertising signs in Dubai require a permit or NOC from the relevant authority before installation. The authority depends on the sign type and location: RTA for signs affecting public roads, DM for signs on DM-jurisdiction properties, and DM OOH for commercial outdoor advertising concessions. Vehicle branding for private vehicles does not require a permit.
- Typically 4–8 weeks from a complete submission. RTA reviews structural engineering drawings, site plan, sight-line impact, and sign dimensions. We prepare complete RTA submissions as standard, which minimises re-submission delays.
- A unipole is a freestanding large-format advertising structure supported by a single pole. A billboard is a broader term for any large-format roadside advertising structure — it can be single-pole, multi-leg, gantry, or rooftop-mounted.
- Yes — building wraps on construction scaffolding are one of the most common outdoor advertising formats in Dubai. A DM permit is required for the wrap, and an RTA NOC is required if the wrapped facade is visible from an RTA-jurisdiction road.
- We use cast vinyl (not calendered vinyl) for all vehicle wraps. Cast vinyl conforms to complex curves and recesses without lifting or shrinking in UAE heat. Cast vinyl full wraps typically last 5+ years in direct Dubai sun without lifting or fading.
- Design and file preparation: 1–2 days. Print production: 1 day. Application: 1–2 days per vehicle depending on size and complexity. For fleet orders, we work in batches of 5–10 vehicles and can typically complete a fleet of 50 vehicles in 2–3 weeks.
- Yes — we supply temporary outdoor advertising for events including bridge banners, lamp post banners, fence banners, and building wraps. Temporary outdoor advertising still requires a NOC, but authorities have accelerated processes for time-limited event advertising.
- No minimum order — we wrap single vehicles and full fleets of 150+. For fleet orders of 10+ vehicles, we can visit your depot for a fleet survey and produce a wrap specification before quoting. All vehicle work is carried out at our Ajman workshop.
