Brass Nameplates in the UAEBrass name plates with real depth
A brass name plate is a flat plate of solid brass, usually 1.5 to 3 mm thick, with the name engraved into the metal and the engraving filled with black or coloured enamel. It is the traditional plate for an advocate's door, a doctor's practice, a family office reception and a villa gate pillar, and it still signals permanence. Because the letters are cut into the surface, they catch the light at an angle and stay legible even after the brass has darkened.
The shape is rarely the hard decision. The finish is: polished and bare, polished and lacquered, brushed, antiqued, or replaced by PVD gold stainless that only looks like brass. Each ages differently in UAE humidity, and the wrong choice is the main source of disappointment we hear about from plates bought elsewhere. We show clients aged and fresh offcuts side by side in our Ajman workshop, specify engraving depth for how often the plate will be polished and choose fixings that will not stain the stone below.
Bayan Signage has engraved and fabricated signs at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, since 2016 as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, a UAE business for 15 years. Brass plates often sit alongside other metalwork we make, such as brass or stainless 3D letters on a facade, so we can match alloy and finish across a whole entrance.
