Hanging Exhibition Signs in the UAE

Hanging exhibition signs that find your stand from the hall entrance

Hanging exhibition signs are lightweight aluminium frames skinned with printed PVC flex or light rigid panels, suspended on wires from the hall roof directly above a stand. Rings, squares, triangles and rectangles are the common shapes, with the logo repeated on every face so it reads from each aisle. Exhibitors on space-only, island and peninsula stands use them, as do country pavilions and conference stage zones, because a sign at 6 m is visible from 50 m away.

Most of the work is not the print. Venues usually allow rigging only by their appointed riggers, at a charge per point, with drawings and orders due well before the show. Organisers set maximum heights and sizes, and many halls ask for fire-rated materials with documentation. A hanging exhibition sign that ignores the exhibitor manual can be refused on build-up day. We read the manual first and design to it.

Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, a UAE group with 15 years in the market, and has run its own factory in Ajman since 2016. Our draftsmen prepare the rigging drawings with sizes, weights and points, our team test-assembles every frame before it leaves, and our installers build the sign on your stand during build-up and pack it again at breakdown.

Our process

How we produce hanging exhibition signs in our Ajman factory

  1. Exhibitor manual and stand plan

We read the rigging section of the manual: maximum height, size limits, distance from built structure, material fire rules and deadlines. Then we mark the main aisles on your stand plan.

  2. Design and rigging drawing

Our designers place the logo on each face to suit the aisles, and our draftsmen produce the rigging drawing with dimensions, rigging points, the front of the frame and weight.

  3. Frame preparation

Aluminium tube sections are cut, fitted with joints and rigging points, and every section is labelled to match the drawing, so any crew can assemble it on site.

  4. Printed skins and panels

The PVC flex skin is printed on our 3.2 m wide printers to the frame's exact dimensions, in a fire-rated grade where the venue requires it, and finished with eyelets for lacing; flat faces can use printed PVC foam panels instead.

  5. Test assembly and weighing

We build the complete sign in the factory, check skin tension and logo position, weigh it and write the actual weight on the drawing for the riggers.

  6. Build-up and breakdown

Our team assembles the sign on your stand floor before carpet and furniture arrive, riggers lift it to the approved height, and at breakdown we lower, pack and store it.

Expert advice

Advice from our exhibitions team

A hanging exhibition sign is usually the most visible thing on a stand and the item with the earliest deadline. These are the rules we follow for every show.

Size the frame from the stand's shorter side

A useful starting point is a frame of half to two-thirds of the stand's shorter side: on a 6 x 6 m stand, a 3 to 4 m ring or square. Go much larger and the sign crowds neighbouring stands and may break the organiser's limits; go smaller and it gets lost among other signs. A 1 m band depth suits most halls with ceilings of 8 m or more.

Meet the rigging deadline, not the show date

For hanging exhibition banners, venues often set rigging order and drawing deadlines well before the show opens, and they are published in the manual. Missing them can mean late fees or no hanging sign at all. When you book the stand, send us the exhibitor manual and the deadlines. We work backwards from the rigging date, not the opening day, and submit the drawing with time to spare.

Fill the band with the logo

From 30 m or more, fine detail disappears. The logo should fill about 60 to 70 percent of the band height, so a 1 m band carries a logo around 600 to 700 mm tall. Repeat it on every face that looks down an aisle. Taglines, phone numbers and product lists belong on the stand walls, not 6 m overhead.

Write the real weight and mark the front

Riggers ask for the weight, and a measured figure makes approval smoother than an estimate. We weigh every assembled sign. We also mark the front of the frame and the main aisle on the drawing, because a square lifted rotated by 90 degrees puts your best face toward the back wall instead of the visitors walking in.

Keep the frame, change the skin

Aluminium frames last for many shows; the printed skins are what change with each campaign. If you exhibit regularly, keep one frame size and order new printed skins or panels. The cost drops sharply, the rigging drawing stays the same, and approvals for the next show become a formality because the weight and points are already on record.

Pricing

Hanging exhibition sign price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We price from the shape, size and show requirements. Send the stand plan, the exhibitor manual and your artwork, and you will usually receive an itemised quote within 24 hours.

Size and shape

Larger frames use more aluminium and printed material. Rings and squares are standard; tapered and custom shapes need special frames and more complex skins.

Print and materials

Printing inside faces, using fire-rated material grades or different artwork on each face adds cost compared with a single standard skin.

Frame ownership

A new frame costs more the first time. Reusing your existing frame with a new printed skin is much cheaper for repeat exhibitors.

Lighting

Internal LED lighting adds modules, drivers, cabling and power, and often extra rigging points and approval steps.

Venue rigging

Venues charge separately for each rigging point and appointed riggers; these costs are set by the venue, not by us.

Logistics

Delivery to the hall, assembly during build-up, collection at breakdown and storage between shows are priced as separate lines.

Approvals

Hanging exhibition sign rules: rigging, fire and organiser approval

UAE exhibition venues usually require hanging signs to be rigged only by their appointed riggers, with rigging orders, drawings, weights and point positions submitted by a published deadline. Organisers commonly set maximum hanging heights, often somewhere between 5 and 8 m to the top of the sign, maximum sizes and minimum distances from built structures. Some halls do not allow hanging signs over shell scheme stands at all.

Many venues also ask for fire-rated materials and supporting documentation for anything suspended overhead. We check the current exhibitor manual for your show, choose a suitable material grade and prepare the drawings and paperwork for the organiser's approval. Rules change between shows and venues, so we confirm them for your event every time.

Why Bayan Signage

Why exhibitors choose Bayan Signage for hanging exhibition signs

Designed to the manual

We read the exhibitor manual before design, so your sign meets height, size and material rules the first time it is checked.

Rigging drawings by our draftsmen

Drawings show dimensions, rigging points, measured weight and the main aisle, which is what riggers and organisers ask for.

Test-assembled in Ajman

Every frame and printed skin is built and checked in our factory before the show, so there are no surprises on the stand floor.

Build-up and breakdown crew

Our installers assemble the sign during build-up, hand it to the riggers and pack it at breakdown for storage or the next show.

FAQ

Hanging Exhibition Signs questions we are asked most

How much does a hanging exhibition sign cost in Dubai?

It depends on the size and shape, the print and materials, whether you need a new frame, lighting and logistics. A new printed skin on an existing ring costs far less than a new tapered frame with internal lighting. Venue rigging is charged separately by the venue. Send the stand plan and manual, and we will usually quote within 24 hours.

What size hanging sign should I choose?

Start with a frame around half to two-thirds of your stand's shorter side, such as a 3 to 4 m ring on a 6 x 6 m stand, with a band depth of about 1 m. Always check the organiser's maximum size and height in the exhibitor manual before deciding, because limits vary between shows.

Who installs hanging signs at UAE exhibitions?

At most venues, the sign is lifted by the venue's appointed riggers. We supply the sign, assemble it on your stand floor during build-up with rigging points fitted, and hand it to the riggers, who attach the wires and lift it to the approved height. Rigging orders are placed through the venue or organiser.

What shape is best for a hanging banner?

A ring shows the logo from every direction and suits island stands. A square gives four flat faces, one per aisle, so the logo never curves. Rectangles suit long stands on a main aisle, triangles work on corner and peninsula stands, and tapered shapes create a premium look for larger budgets.

Do hanging exhibition signs need fire-rated materials?

Many venues require fire-rated materials, with documentation, for anything suspended overhead. Requirements differ between shows, so we check the exhibitor manual and choose an appropriate material grade before production. Tell us the venue and show early so the right material and paperwork are ready before the submission deadline.

How long does it take to make a hanging exhibition sign?

We give you a realistic schedule with the quote, worked back from the rigging deadline rather than the opening day. A new printed skin for an existing frame is quicker than a new frame, and custom shapes and lit signs need more time. Remember that rigging deadlines usually fall well before the show itself, so send us the manual early.

Can hanging exhibition signs be reused at future shows?

Yes. Aluminium frames are built for many shows, and printed skins can be reprinted when branding changes or the skin wears. Many exhibitors keep one frame and order new graphics for each campaign. We can store labelled frames with their drawings so they are ready for the next show.

Hanging sign or freestanding letters: which should I choose?

A hanging sign helps visitors find your stand from across the hall; freestanding letters create a photo spot and make the stand recognisable up close. Large island stands often use both. On small stands where rigging is not allowed, freestanding letters or a tall wall graphic are the practical alternative.
