PVC Banners in the UAE

PVC banner printing from our own factory

PVC banner printing is still the quickest way to put a large, weatherproof message in front of people in Dubai: a polyester scrim coated in flexible PVC, printed on one face and finished with hems, eyelets or pole pockets. Developers, contractors, car showrooms, supermarkets, schools and event organisers use it for promotions, site dressing, balcony drops and seasonal campaigns, anywhere the job is temporary, large and has to survive sun and dust for weeks or months.

The difference between a banner that stays flat all season and one that tears in the first shamal is decided before the ink goes down. Media weight, scrim density, hem width and eyelet spacing all have to suit where the banner will hang and what it will be tied to. We choose the grade for the fixing, print on our own UV and solvent machines, finish the hems in the same workshop and check the tension points against your site photo, so no step goes to someone who has never seen the wall.

Bayan Signage has run its Ajman factory since 2016 as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has worked in the UAE market for 15 years. More than 500 clients across the emirates, most of them returning or referred, send us their banners alongside their permanent signs. That helps on banner work: the people printing your campaign already know your shopfront, your landlord's rules and your brand colours.

Our process

How our PVC banner printing works in the Ajman factory

  1. Brief and fixing check

We ask what the banner will be fixed to, ideally with a photo and measurements. The fixing decides the media grade, hem type and eyelet spacing, so we settle it before anyone opens the artwork.

  2. Artwork set-up and proof

Our designers check resolution, bleed and safe margins, set the Arabic and English together and plan any joins away from faces, logos and phone numbers. You approve a scaled PDF proof before printing.

  3. Large-format printing

Banners are printed on our UV or solvent machines up to 3.2 m wide in a single pass. On long runs we print a colour strip first, so brand reds and blues are matched on the actual media.

  4. Hemming and eyelets

Edges are folded back and welded, then eyelets are punched through the doubled hem. Oversize banners are joined from panels with a 25 to 40 mm overlap, and large drops get rope or webbing inside the top hem.

  5. Inspection against artwork

Every banner is laid out on the workshop floor and checked against the approved artwork for size, spelling, colour and finishing, then rolled print side out around a core for delivery.

  6. Installation and handover

Our crew fixes the top corners first, then the top edge, sides and bottom, tensioning evenly so no diagonal wrinkles form. High facades are installed from towers or boom lifts under our site safety plan.

Expert advice

Advice from our print and finishing team

Most banner problems we are asked to fix come from finishing and placement, not from the print itself. These are the points we raise when a new order arrives.

Choose the weight from the fixing, not the price

A 440 gsm banner tied every 500 mm to a sheltered wall will look good for months. The same banner hung as a 6 m balcony drop, tied only along the top, will stretch and tear. Our rule is that anything over about 10 square metres, anything double-sided and anything staying up longer than three months moves to 510 gsm or heavier. The extra media cost is small compared with sending a crew back to replace it.

Use blockout in front of glass

Frontlit flex lets light through. Hang it over a showroom window and the afternoon sun shows the window frames, blinds and even people walking behind it, ghosted through your offer. Blockout media has a grey or black core that stops this. It is also the only sensible choice for a banner seen from both sides, where the back print would otherwise show through the front.

Size the words for a three-second read

Drivers and pedestrians read a roadside banner in two or three seconds. Allow about 25 mm of letter height per metre of reading distance, so a phone number read from 20 m needs characters close to 500 mm tall. One headline, one offer and one contact are usually enough. Conditions and small print belong on a website or a leaflet, not on the fence.

Keep 50 mm clear of every edge

Hems fold back 30 to 50 mm and eyelets punch through that zone, so text placed near the edge is either folded under or cut by a ring. We keep all copy and logos at least 50 mm inside the finished size and add bleed beyond it. If you supply artwork, tell us whether your dimensions are the visible area or the overall size including hems.

Plan the replacement date at the start

UAE sun fades reds and yellows first, and a west-facing banner can look tired after one summer. Rather than promise colour for years, we agree a realistic life at the start and keep your print file on record, so a replacement is a phone call and a short print run instead of a new design job.

Pricing

PVC banner printing price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We quote banners from size, media and finishing, so there is no single rate card. Send the size, quantity, a photo of the fixing location and your artwork, and you will usually receive an itemised quote within 24 hours.

Area and media grade

Cost follows square metres first. Heavy and blockout flex cost more per metre than 440 gsm frontlit, though they often work out cheaper across a long campaign.

Finishing

Welded hems, closer eyelets, webbing, rope edges and pole pockets each add workshop time. Skipping them saves a little today and usually costs a replacement banner later.

Oversize banners and joins

Anything wider than 3.2 m is joined from panels, with careful alignment of the print across each join, which adds handling and inspection time.

Double-sided printing

Two printed faces need blockout media, two print passes and registration between sides, so the price is well above a single-sided banner of the same size.

Installation and access

A shopfront banner fixed from a ladder is quick. Facade drops, balconies and road frontages may need boom lifts, extra crew and early-morning working windows.

Permits and repeat orders

Advertising permits are listed separately where they apply. Repeat orders from the same file spread the artwork and set-up time across more banners.

Approvals

Permits for PVC banners in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman

Banners that advertise to a public road usually need a temporary advertising permit before they go up. In Dubai that is normally Dubai Municipality, or the free-zone or master-developer authority where the building sits in its area; Sharjah and Ajman banners go through the relevant municipality. Malls, gated communities and managed towers often add their own rules on size, position and how long a banner may stay.

Banners inside your own premises, or on a hoarding facing into the plot, may not need the same approval, but that depends on the location. Our team prepares the artwork, dimensions and site photos for the application and checks the Arabic and English wording against your trade licence. Rules change, so we confirm the current requirement for your exact address before printing.

Why Bayan Signage

Why businesses choose Bayan Signage for PVC banner printing

Printing under our own roof

Large-format UV and solvent printers up to 3.2 m wide sit in our Ajman factory beside the finishing benches, so print, hems and eyelets are controlled by one team.

Finishing matched to the site

We ask what the banner hangs from before choosing media and eyelet spacing. That one question prevents most of the tears and sagging we see on banners made elsewhere.

Installers who work at height

Our installation crews use towers and boom lifts, follow site safety rules and fix banners across all seven emirates, from shopfronts to building faces.

Arabic set properly

Bilingual layouts are checked by our draftsmen against your trade licence spelling, with both scripts sized as one design rather than Arabic squeezed into a corner.

Itemised quotes

Media, finishing, installation and permit work are listed separately, usually within 24 hours, so you can compare like for like and see where the money goes.

Trusted across the UAE

More than 500 clients, including national retail groups and international brands, use us for their permanent signs and the campaign banners that go with them.

FAQ

PVC Banners questions we are asked most

How much does PVC banner printing cost in Dubai?

The price depends mainly on area, media weight, finishing and installation. A small 440 gsm banner with eyelets costs far less than a double-sided blockout banner hung from a balcony. Send us the size, quantity, a photo of the location and your artwork, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours. Permits, where needed, are shown as a separate line.

What gsm PVC banner should I order for outdoor use?

For most outdoor jobs in the UAE, 440 gsm frontlit flex is the sensible default. Move up to 510 gsm or heavier for banners over about 10 square metres, long campaigns or exposed balconies, and choose blockout media for double-sided banners or anything hung over glass. Lighter 340 gsm flex is fine indoors or for a short event outside.

How long does it take to print a PVC banner?

The schedule depends on size, quantity, finishing and installation, so we confirm the programme with your quote rather than quote a stock answer. A standard single-sided banner is among the simplest jobs we print, while oversize joined banners, double-sided blockout and installation at height need more planning. Where a permit applies, approval is usually the longest step, so tell us your campaign date when you ask for the quote.

How long does a PVC banner last outdoors?

Frontlit flex usually stays presentable for six to twelve months outdoors in the UAE, and heavy blockout media can last longer. Direct afternoon sun, loose ties and strong wind are what shorten its life. Welded hems, correct eyelet spacing and even tension push a banner towards the top of that range.

What is the difference between a PVC banner and a mesh banner?

A PVC banner is a solid sheet with richer colour and sharper close-up detail. A mesh banner is perforated so wind passes through it. Use PVC on walls, frames, balconies and short fence sections; switch to mesh on long fence runs, scaffolding and exposed building faces, where wind load matters more than close-up image quality.

Can you print banners in Arabic and English?

Yes. Most of the banners we print for Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman are bilingual. Our designers set Arabic and English as one composition with balanced sizes, and our draftsmen check the spelling against your trade licence where the banner carries your business name. Advertising facing a public road may also need Arabic for the permit.

Do you install banners outside Dubai?

Yes. Our crews install banners across all seven emirates, from shopfront banners fixed from a ladder to facade drops installed with a boom lift. The site visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and for simple jobs a clear photo with measurements is often enough for us to quote.

Can a PVC banner be reused?

Yes, if it is rolled print side out around a tube, stored dry and kept out of the sun. Ramadan, open day and annual sale banners are often reused two or three times. Folding is what ruins them, because sharp creases crack the coating and leave white lines across the print. We keep your file, so a replacement is quick when one wears out.
