Public Notice Boards in the UAE

Notice boards people trust because they are official

A public notice board is a fixed display for printed notices: announcements, regulations, tender and vacancy notices, service changes, community meetings and statutory postings. In government offices, municipal centres and customer service halls they are usually glazed, lockable cases, so the public cannot remove, deface or add to the content. In staff areas and community rooms, open pinboards or magnetic boards are common. Facilities managers, community associations, procurement teams and fit-out contractors in Dubai and across the UAE buy them, often as one standard design for many sites.

A notice board works when it is in the same place, always official and always current. That depends on decisions we make in the factory: glazing that does not glare under strong lobby lighting, a back that takes pins or magnets cleanly, a door that stays open while staff change notices, and, outdoors, ventilation so humid nights do not curl every sheet inside. We build each case from extruded aluminium, cut and assembled in Ajman, so sizes, locks and headers match across every site.

Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, with 15 years in the UAE, and our factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman has been producing signs since 2016. Public sector work suits our way of working: our draftsmen supply drawings and material details for procurement, our designers follow your visual identity guidelines in Arabic and English, and one project manager coordinates phased delivery and installation across several emirates.

Our process

How we make notice boards in our Ajman factory

  1. Brief and site review

We agree what each board will hold, who will maintain it and where it goes, then survey wall types, lighting and sun exposure. Surveys are free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Drawings and specification

Our draftsmen produce drawings with sizes, materials, lock types and fixings, which your procurement or facilities team can use to compare and approve on a clear technical basis.

  3. Sample for approval

For multi-site orders we make one complete board with your header, so the identity, glazing and lock can be checked before the full run.

  4. Frame cutting and assembly

Aluminium extrusions are cut and joined, glazing is fitted with gaskets, backs are faced in felt, cork or steel, and headers are UV-printed or cut in vinyl.

  5. Inspection and packing

Each board is checked for door alignment, lock action and header accuracy against the approved artwork, then packed and labelled by site and location.

  6. Installation in phases

Our crews fix boards at a consistent height with concealed fixings, site by site across the emirates, at times that suit public opening hours.

Expert advice

Advice from our public sector team

Notice boards fail through placement and ownership more often than construction. These are the points we raise on every order.

Size boards by the notices they hold

Count the A4 sheets you post at the same time, then add a margin. Most public boards hold 6, 9 or 12 sheets. Two medium boards with separate headers, such as Regulations and Tenders, work better than one very large board where everything mixes together, because people find the notice that concerns them in seconds.

Keep notices at reading height

Notices are read from 0.5 to 1.5 m, standing close. We centre boards around 1,400 to 1,500 mm and keep the notice area between about 900 and 1,800 mm, so most adults and wheelchair users can read it. Boards fixed high to line up with a neat wall elevation look tidy and are rarely read.

Ventilate outdoor cases

A sealed outdoor case in a UAE summer heats up through the day, then traps moisture on humid nights. Notices soon curl, stain and fade. Small screened vents, UV-filtering glazing and a position in shade or under a canopy keep notices flat and legible, and we design outdoor boards that way as standard.

Name an owner for every board

Without a named owner, boards fill with out-of-date paper and lose their authority. Before handover, agree who holds the keys, how often notices are reviewed and who removes expired ones. Key-alike locks across a building make that easier for the facilities team.

Pricing

Notice board price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We price from the number, size and type of boards, so there is no fixed price list. Send your quantities, sizes and locations, or a specification, and we will usually send an itemised quote within 24 hours.

Size and capacity

A 12-sheet case uses more aluminium, glazing and backing material than a 4-sheet case, and needs heavier fixings into the wall.

Glazing grade

Standard polycarbonate, anti-glare polycarbonate and clear cast acrylic differ in material cost, and each suits different locations and levels of risk.

Indoor or outdoor

Outdoor cases need gasketed back boxes, screened ventilation and corrosion-resistant fixings, all of which add cost over an indoor board.

Locks and hardware

Gas struts, key-alike locks across a building and tamper-resistant fixings add components compared with a single simple cam lock.

Headers and branding

Separate replaceable headers, special colours and illuminated cases add design, printing and LED assembly work to each board.

Quantity and number of sites

Repeating one design across many boards keeps unit cost down, while installation across several emirates adds travel and scheduling.

Approvals

Notice board standards for government and public buildings

Indoor notice boards rarely need a permit, but public sector boards usually follow written rules. Federal and emirate government entities often have visual identity guidelines covering logos, colours and Arabic and English typography, and procurement teams buy against technical specifications. We work to your guideline document and submit drawings or a sample for approval.

Freestanding outdoor boards in communities, parks or free zones may need landlord, master developer or authority approval, and boards in corridors should not reduce escape route widths that Dubai Civil Defence or the local authority expect to stay clear. Requirements vary by building, so we confirm them for each site.

Made in our own factory

Frames, glazing, backs and headers are cut, printed and assembled at our Ajman factory, so every board in a multi-site order matches exactly.

Drawings for procurement

Our draftsmen supply drawings, material details and samples, so tenders and approvals are based on a clear technical specification rather than a catalogue photo.

Identity guidelines followed

Headers, colours and bilingual typography are set to your guideline document by our designers and checked against it before anything is printed.

Phased, multi-site delivery

One project manager schedules supply and installation across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates, site by site.

Itemised, honest quotes

Boards, headers, locks and installation are listed separately for each site, which suits public sector budgeting, approvals and audit.

Public bodies, residential communities, national retail groups and international brands return to our factory for new buildings and refits.

FAQ

Public Notice Boards questions we are asked most

How much does a notice board cost in Dubai?

It depends on size, glazing, indoor or outdoor build, locks, headers and quantity. A standard indoor 6-sheet case costs much less than a large ventilated outdoor board on posts. Send quantities, sizes and locations for an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

What is the best material for an outdoor notice board?

For outdoor use in the UAE, a powder-coated aluminium frame, UV-stabilised polycarbonate glazing, stainless fixings and a ventilated back box works best. It resists heat, corrosion and humidity. Mild steel frames and unprotected timber degrade quickly outdoors and are better kept indoors.

Polycarbonate or acrylic glazing?

Polycarbonate is lighter, safer if struck and more resistant to vandalism, so it suits public areas and outdoor boards. Clear cast acrylic gives a slightly crisper view and a lighter look, which suits supervised indoor offices and lobbies, though it scratches more easily than polycarbonate if cleaned with rough cloths. We recommend one or the other based on location and risk.

Can notice boards carry our logo and department name?

Yes. We add printed or cut vinyl headers with the entity logo, department name and board title in Arabic and English, following your identity guidelines. Headers can be separate panels, so a department change means a new header rather than a new board.

How many A4 notices should a board hold?

Most public boards hold 6, 9 or 12 A4 sheets. The right size depends on how many notices you post at once and how long they stay up. Two medium boards with separate headers are usually easier to manage than one very large board.

Are digital notice boards a better option?

Digital screens suit information that changes daily or must be updated remotely. They need power, content management and maintenance. Printed boards remain better for official notices that must be displayed for set periods and for signed documents. Many buildings use both.

Can you supply notice boards to several sites?

Yes. We produce a standard design in several sizes and supply it to multiple locations across all seven emirates. We prepare drawings and a sample for approval, then fabricate and install in phases that suit your facilities team and each site's access arrangements.
