Building Logo Signage in Dubai, Sharjah & Abu Dhabi

Bayan Signage turns brand marks into building logo signs that stay recognisable at 50 m or 300 m. Our designers adapt the logo for its real viewing distance, we match colours on lit and unlit samples, and the factory in Ajman fabricates, lights and frames the logo in sections that can be lifted, fixed and serviced safely.

Building Logo Signs in the UAE

Building logo signage, adapted for scale

Building logo signage puts a brand's symbol on the facade, crown or podium of a building, usually as a fabricated 3D shape, a halo-lit metal mark or a shaped lightbox. It makes sense where the symbol is recognised faster than the name: corporate headquarters, banks, car dealerships, hotels, hospitals and retail chains. A logo on a crown can be seen over rooftops and across interchanges, and for brands with many branches it makes every site, large or small, instantly recognisable.

Logos are designed on screens at small sizes, and on a building they behave differently. Thin outlines merge, small gaps fill in, gradients turn into bands, and a colour that matched on paper looks wrong in sunlight or lit from behind. So our first step is adaptation: thickening, opening up or removing details the eye cannot resolve at the real distance, converting gradients to solid tones, and specifying colours as paint, vinyl, acrylic and LED rather than screen values, then showing you lit samples outdoors.

Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has been in the UAE market for 15 years, and our factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, has been running since 2016. Our designers check every mark at production size, our fabricators CNC-route and laser-cut the shapes, and our electricians light and test them in-house. More than 500 clients across the UAE, including national retail groups and international brands, work with our team.

Our process

How we make building logo signs in our Ajman factory

  1. Survey and viewing distances

We photograph the facade from each approach road, measure distances, check the structure behind the cladding and note access. The survey is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Logo adaptation for scale

Our designers redraw fine details for the real viewing distance, convert gradients to solid tones and show the result on a photo of your building for brand approval.

  3. Outdoor colour samples

Brand colours are matched in paint, translucent vinyl, acrylic and LED, then shown to you outdoors both lit and unlit, because sun and backlighting each shift colour differently.

  4. Fabrication in sections

Shapes are CNC-routed and laser-cut, returns formed, an internal skeleton added on large marks, and the logo split into sections sized for a truck and a safe lift.

  5. Lighting and full-brightness test

Each section is fitted with LEDs, wired so it can be removed on its own, and run at full brightness in our test area, then checked against the approved artwork.

  6. Frame, installation and handover

The galvanised steel frame is fixed to structure, sections lifted and joined, drivers placed in a reachable location, and the logo checked after dark from each approach.

Expert advice

Advice from our design studio

Most of the work on a building logo happens before any metal is cut. These are the conversations we have with brand teams on almost every project.

Check the smallest detail, not the overall size

As a rough rule, details smaller than about 1.5 mm for every metre of viewing distance disappear. At 200 m, anything under about 300 mm, such as a thin outline or a small gap between shapes, will not be seen. Those details are thickened, opened up or removed in the building version. We show you the logo at the real distance before you approve it.

Get brand permission early

Some brand guidelines forbid any change to the mark, which can make a faithful large version impractical. Ask your brand owner, or the international brand team for a franchise, for permission to adapt the logo for large scale before the design stage. We supply a side-by-side drawing explaining each change, which usually makes approval quick.

Convert gradients to solid tones

Smooth gradients rarely look smooth when lit from behind, and they fade unevenly in sun. Two or three solid tones are clearer by day and much easier to light evenly at night. Metallic effects behave the same way: a printed gold looks flat, while real brushed or PVD metal, or a halo-lit metal face, reads as gold from the street.

On corner plots, use two logos

A logo on one facade is invisible to traffic on the other street. Two smaller logos, each sized for its own approach road, often do more than one very large logo, because drivers rarely see both elevations at once. The second logo also helps on buildings with a main road on one side and the entrance on the other.

Approve colour outdoors, lit and unlit

A sample that matches under office lights can look wrong in bright sun or lit at night. We set samples up outdoors, in daylight and after dark, and sometimes use coloured LEDs behind matching acrylic so deep reds and blues stay rich instead of turning pink or purple. It adds a short step before fabrication, and it avoids a logo that is off-brand for a decade.

Pricing

Building logo signage price: what affects the cost

We quote each logo from the adapted artwork and an access plan. Send the logo file, the facade photos, the building height and where you want the logo, and you receive an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Size and complexity

A simple, bold mark is quicker to fabricate than a detailed shape with many separate parts, colours and internal cut-outs.

Construction

A shaped lightbox is economical; built-up illuminated logos and halo-lit metal marks need more fabrication and finishing.

Colour and lighting

Several brand colours, coloured LEDs and colour-changing systems add vinyl, acrylic, modules and testing time.

Structure and sections

Large logos need an internal skeleton, a galvanised steel frame and sometimes structural calculations, all priced separately.

Access at height

Boom lifts, building maintenance units, rope access or cranes, and the permits to use them, depend on the building and height.

Approvals

Municipality, free-zone and developer submissions, with structural drawings for high-level signs, are listed as their own line.

Approvals

Building logo approvals in Dubai and the UAE

Logos on building facades generally need approval from the municipality or free-zone authority, such as Dubai Municipality, Sharjah or Ajman Municipality, JAFZA, DMCC or TECOM. Master developers and communities may also limit the size, position and lighting of logos, and some restrict illuminated signs facing residential areas. Large or high-level logos may need structural drawings and calculations.

Our technical draftsmen prepare the elevations, shop drawings and structural details for each submission and follow them through. Where a logo appears with a trade name, we check the Arabic and English wording against your licence. Requirements change and vary by plot, so we confirm the current rules for your building at the survey.

FAQ

Building Logo Signs questions we are asked most

How big should a logo be on a building?

It depends on viewing distance and the logo's detail. A logo read from 100 m might need to be 1 to 1.5 m high, while one seen from a highway at 300 m might need 3 m or more, built in sections. The smallest details must also be visible: at 200 m, details under about 300 mm disappear.

How much does building logo signage cost in Dubai?

It depends on size, complexity, construction, colours, lighting, structure and access at height. A halo-lit logo at podium level costs far less than a large illuminated logo on a tower crown. Send the logo file and facade photos and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Can you match our exact brand colours?

In most cases, closely. We match colours using paint codes, translucent vinyls, coloured acrylics and LED colours, and show lit and unlit samples for approval. Colours look different by day and at night, so the aim is a match that looks right in both conditions rather than a perfect match to a screen.

Should our building logo be illuminated?

For most commercial buildings, yes, because many people drive past after dark. Face-lit logos read furthest, halo-lit logos look more refined, and unlit logos can work on low-rise buildings with good facade lighting. Community rules sometimes limit lighting, so we check that first.

Do building logo signs need a permit?

Usually, yes. Logos on facades generally need municipality or free-zone approval, and master developers often have their own rules on size and position. Large or high-level logos may also need structural drawings. We prepare the submission and confirm the current requirements for your site.

What if our brand guidelines do not allow changes to the logo?

We make the most faithful version possible and show you how it will look at the real viewing distance. If some details will disappear, we explain which ones and suggest options, such as a larger size, a contrasting backing panel or a simplified version approved by your brand team.

Logo sign or building name sign: which do we need?

If your symbol is widely recognised, a logo can identify the building with fewer elements and read further. If the mark is new or not well known, it says little without the name. Many buildings use both: a logo on the crown for distance and the name at the entrance for arrivals.

Can a damaged building logo be repaired?

Yes. Because we build large logos in sections, each wired independently, a cracked face, failed LED chain or storm-damaged part can be removed and repaired on its own. We keep the drawings and colour specifications for every logo we make, so replacement parts match the original.
