Contractor Boards & Consultant Boards in Dubai and the UAE

Bayan Signage makes contractor boards and consultant boards that credit every party on a construction project in one tidy, modular system. We balance each logo, print and cut matching ACP plates in our Ajman factory, and design the rails with spare positions, so a subcontractor appointed in month eight gets a plate that matches the first.

Contractor & Consultant Boards in the UAE

Contractor boards that grow with the project team

A contractor board lists the organisations working on a project: the client or developer, the project manager, design and supervision consultants, the main contractor and approved subcontractors, usually with logos and role captions and sometimes licence numbers. It can be a single grid board, a stack of name plates on two posts or a strip of identical panels along the hoarding. Developers, main contractors and government clients order them for towers, communities, infrastructure and public buildings.

The difficulty is that the content grows and every logo is a different shape. A project may start with five names and finish with fifteen as facade, MEP, lift and landscape subcontractors arrive, and a wide wordmark beside a square emblem makes any board look uneven. We set a fixed logo box and caption baseline on every plate and size each logo by visual weight, not by stretching it edge to edge. The master layout is then locked, so later plates are printed on the same stock and match the originals.

Bayan Signage has made signs in its own Ajman factory since 2016 and is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has 15 years in the UAE. Printing, CNC cutting, rails and posts are all produced in-house, and the project manager who handled the first board also handles every plate added after it.

Our process

How we make contractor boards in our Ajman factory

  1. Team list and final count

We collect the full list of parties and roles from the contract, ask how many subcontract packages are still to come, and plan positions for the final team plus two or three spares.

  2. Logo collection and balancing

Each company sends vector logos and its trade licence name in English and Arabic. Our designers fit every logo into a fixed box by visual weight and prepare one proof per plate.

  3. Client approval of order

The client approves the order, any hierarchy and the wording in writing, and each company checks its own plate. The approved master layout is then locked for the life of the project.

  4. Print, cut and drill

Plates are printed on our UV printers and laminated, or lettered in cut vinyl, then CNC-cut from ACP with pre-drilled holes that match the rail positions exactly.

  5. Rails, posts and installation

Rails and galvanised posts are welded in our frame shop. Our crew sets the posts or hoarding brackets, levels the rails across the run and bolts the plates in the approved order.

  6. Added plates during the project

New subcontractor plates are set into the locked master, printed on the same stock and fitted on a short visit, grouped where possible so the board is never half finished for long.

Specification

Our standard build suits a two to three year project on a main road. Client standards or contract documents sometimes fix plate sizes, order and colours, and we follow them.

Expert advice

Advice from our project board team

A contractor board is half signmaking and half diplomacy. These points keep it tidy and keep everyone named on it satisfied.

Build for the final team, not today's

A board sized for six plates is full the day the seventh subcontractor arrives, and extending rails on site never looks right. Ask the main contractor how many specialist packages are still to be let, add two or three spare positions, and fill them with neat blank plates in the board colour. Blanks look deliberate; empty rails look unfinished.

Balance logos by weight, not width

Dropping every logo in at the same width makes compact emblems look huge and long wordmarks look tiny. We set a logo box, roughly 800 x 300 mm on a 1,200 x 600 mm plate, and fit each mark by its visual weight: a tall emblem might fill 70 percent of the height while a long wordmark fills the width. Nobody's brand looks squashed, and nobody looks louder than the client.

Get the order approved in writing

The order of parties can be sensitive, especially on joint ventures and government projects where the client specifies it. Without written approval, a board is often questioned at the first site visit and reworked at someone's cost. We send a full layout for the client's signature and keep the approved proof on file for every later addition.

Ask for vector files and licence names

A logo photographed from a business card cannot be printed 800 mm wide. Ask each company for vector artwork and its exact trade licence name in English and Arabic, because a registered Arabic name often differs from a direct translation. Redrawing a logo from a poor image takes time and still needs that company's approval.

Use white plates for mixed brands

A coloured plate background fights with every logo that was not designed for it. White or very light plates let each company's colours read true, and the board takes its identity from the header and frame colour instead. If the client wants its own colour, put it in the header strip rather than behind the consultants' and subcontractors' logos.

Pricing

Contractor board price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We price contractor boards from the number of plates and the structure, not from a list. Send us the list of parties, the logos you have, the location and whether the board is freestanding or on the hoarding, and we will return an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Number of plates

Each organisation needs its own plate with setup and print. Ordering every known plate together is cheaper than adding them one at a time later.

Plate size and material

Larger plates and heavier materials such as steel sheet cost more and need stronger rails and posts to carry them in the wind.

Logo preparation

Clean vector files cost nothing extra. Redrawing logos from low-resolution images takes design time and a further approval round.

Structure type

Freestanding posts with footings involve civil work. Brackets onto hoarding posts are usually cheaper, provided the posts can take the load.

Print method and finish

Cut vinyl suits simple logos, full-colour print with laminate suits gradients, and reflective or illuminated faces add to the cost.

Later additions

Each added plate needs a return visit and sometimes access equipment, so grouping additions into one visit keeps the cost down.

Approvals

Contractor boards: contract rules and authority expectations

Many UAE contracts and client standards state which parties must be displayed on site, in what order and sometimes at what size, and government clients often specify the exact wording. Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, free zones and the Sharjah and Ajman municipalities may also expect certain parties to be shown, usually alongside the permit on the project board. We work from the specification or a written client instruction.

Our draftsmen check every company name against its trade licence in both languages and keep the approved layout on file, so additions follow the same rules. Requirements vary between authorities, clients and project types, so we confirm the current position for your site before artwork starts rather than assuming a standard format.

Why Bayan Signage

Why contractors choose Bayan Signage for contractor boards

A locked master layout

Every project keeps one approved master, so plates added months later match the originals in size, typeface, white and caption position.

Made in our own factory

Plates, rails and galvanised posts are printed, cut and welded at our Ajman factory. Clients are welcome to visit during production.

Fair logo balancing

Our designers size each mark by visual weight inside a fixed box, so mixed logos look even and every company is content with its plate.

Bilingual names checked

Company names are checked against trade licences in English and Arabic before printing, which avoids guessed translations on an official board.

Itemised quotes in 24 hours

Plates, structure, installation and future additions are priced as separate lines, usually within 24 hours, so you know what each new plate will cost.

Trusted across the UAE

More than 500 clients across the UAE, including national retail groups and international brands, and most of our work comes from returning clients and referrals.

FAQ

Contractor & Consultant Boards questions we are asked most

How much does a contractor board cost in Dubai?

It depends on the number of plates, their size and material, the logo preparation and whether the board stands on its own posts or fixes to the hoarding. A six-plate hoarding strip costs far less than a tall freestanding stack of fifteen plates. Send us the list of parties and the location, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Which parties are usually shown on a contractor board?

Typically the client or developer, project manager, design and supervision consultants, the main contractor and approved subcontractors such as MEP, facade and lift contractors. The exact list and order normally come from the contract or the client's instructions, and we work from those rather than deciding who appears.

Can you add a subcontractor plate later?

Yes. We design the board with spare positions and keep the locked layout file, so a new plate matches the existing ones in size, typeface and colour. Fitting it is usually a short visit, and we group several additions into one trip where the programme allows.

Who decides the logo sizes and order?

The client normally decides, often guided by the contract or its own standards. Where nothing is specified, equal plates in contract order are the safest choice because they avoid disputes. We send a full layout for written approval before printing and keep the approved proof on file.

Can the contractor board be combined with the project information board?

On smaller projects, yes, and it saves a second structure. On larger sites a separate board is usually clearer, because the project board needs space for the permit details and render. A matching header and frame keep the two boards looking like a set from the road.

What material lasts best for contractor board plates?

Printed vinyl on 4 mm ACP with UV laminate is the usual choice, balancing cost, flatness and durability over a two to three year project. Simple single-colour logos can be cut vinyl, which tends to hold its colour longer. Steel plates suit gates where knocks are likely.

Do you need each company's permission to show its logo?

Each company should approve its own logo and name, and the client approves the whole board. In practice the main contractor collects logos and approvals from its partners. We supply a proof per plate so each party can check its own section quickly.

Can the plates be reused at our own offices or yard?

Plates with a project header are hard to reuse, but a contractor can order its own plate set in a consistent house style for yards and site offices. Plates without project-specific details can then move from site to site as the company wins new work.
