Galvanised & Mild Steel Signs in the UAESteel sign boards built for rough sites
A steel sign board is the toughest flat sign we make: a galvanised or mild steel face on a welded frame, bolted to posts, fences or hoarding. Galvanised steel, often called GI sheet, is mild steel coated with zinc for rust protection. Mild steel without zinc is cheaper and welds more easily, but rusts quickly outdoors unless fully coated. Both suit contractors, logistics yards, quarries, farms and industrial plants, and mild steel is also the base for laser-cut feature signs in restaurants and showrooms.
Steel signs fail at their weakest point, which is rarely the face. Welds burn off zinc, drilled holes and cut edges expose bare steel, paint flakes off fresh galvanising without the right pre-treatment, and zinc-plated bolts rust long before the board. In our Ajman factory we treat every weld, edge and hole with zinc-rich paint, pre-treat before powder coating, specify galvanised or stainless bolts and size frames and posts for the real weight. A 2,400 by 1,200 mm board in 2 mm steel weighs around 45 kg before its frame.
Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has 15 years in the UAE, and we have run our factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, since 2016. Galvanised steel frame welding for pylons, totems and wall structures is core work for us, so steel sign boards come from the same welders, laser cutters and powder coating line as our largest structures.
