PVC Foam Board (Forex) Signs in the UAE

Forex board signs: fast, light and economical

Forex board signs are made from rigid PVC foam sheet, also sold as Sintra or simply PVC board, with a smooth matt white surface that takes print cleanly. The sheet is light enough to hang with double-sided tape and stiff enough to stand alone in thicker grades. It covers a wide range of jobs: exhibition panels, office notices and safety signs, school displays, retail promotions, cut-out logos and quick 3D letters. Our buyers are marketing teams, event organisers, schools, site offices and shop managers in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

Forex is easy to print and easy to get wrong. A 3 mm board used for a 1.5 m panel bows within days, raw foam edges on cut-out letters look unfinished, boards brought in from a hot warehouse print with small registration errors, and white panels near a west-facing window yellow and wave. In our Ajman factory we choose thickness by span, rest boards flat in the air-conditioned print area before printing, CNC-route edges cleanly and paint or wrap them on cut-out work.

Bayan Signage has run its own factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, since 2016 as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has worked in the UAE for 15 years. We print up to 3.2 m wide in one pass and cut on the same CNC routers we use for acrylic and ACP, so a Forex job of any size goes from file to finished panel without leaving the building.

Our process

How we make Forex board signs in our Ajman factory

  1. Brief and artwork check

We confirm size, quantity, where the sign will hang and for how long, then check your artwork for resolution, bleed and Arabic text before anything is printed.

  2. Thickness and finish choice

We pick the board grade by span and use: 3 mm for small notices, 5 mm for most panels, 10 mm for freestanding signs, 15 to 19 mm for cut-out letters.

  3. Conditioning and printing

Boards rest flat in our air-conditioned print area before printing on our large-format UV printers, or printed vinyl is laminated on for signs that will be touched often.

  4. CNC cutting

Panels, contours and cut-out letters are routed on our CNC machines to ±0.1 mm, so multi-panel walls line up and logos keep their fine detail.

  5. Edge finishing and QC

Cut-out letters get painted or wrapped edges; panels are checked against the approved artwork for colour, size and spelling, then interleaved and packed flat.

  6. Fixing and installation

We supply tape, Velcro, stand-offs or hanging wires, and our installers fit panels in offices, malls and exhibition stands across the UAE.

Expert advice

Advice from our print team

Forex is a medium-life material. These are the rules of thumb that keep it looking good for as long as you need it.

Size up the thickness

As a rule, 3 mm suits panels up to about A2, 5 mm up to roughly 1,200 by 800 mm, and anything larger should be 10 mm or mounted on a frame. A large 3 mm panel bends, waves and looks cheap within days. The price difference between 3 and 5 mm on a typical panel is small next to the cost of reprinting, so if in doubt, size up.

Leave room for heat

PVC foam expands much more than metal, roughly 0.07 mm per metre per degree, and softens above about 60°C. A 2 m panel near a sunny shopfront window can grow by a few millimetres and start to wave if fixed rigidly at all four corners. We leave small edge gaps and use slotted or floating fixings on large panels in warm spaces.

Keep it out of the sun for long jobs

Forex survives rain and humidity, but strong UAE sun makes it bow, fade and yellow. For a two-week outdoor promotion in shade it is fine. For anything outdoors longer than a few months, aluminium composite panel or aluminium is far more stable, and we will say so before quoting Forex for the wrong job.

Paint the edges on cut-out work

Raw foam edges show their texture and pick up dirt, which makes cut-out letters look unfinished on a feature wall. Painting edges in a matching or contrasting colour takes little extra time and lifts the result noticeably. For logos that must look premium for years, though, acrylic is the better material.

Pricing

Forex board printing price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We quote from your sizes, quantity and finish. Send the artwork, the dimensions and how the signs will be fixed, and you receive an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Board thickness and size

Thicker sheets cost more, and panels larger than a standard sheet need extra boards and joints. The board is usually a modest share of the cost.

Print method

Direct UV print is the most economical. Printed vinyl with lamination costs more but resists scuffs and cleaning on busy walls.

Cutting complexity

Rectangles are quick. Contours, cut-out letters and detailed logos take more CNC time, more waste and more hand finishing.

Edge finishing

Painting or wrapping edges adds labour, especially on cut-out letters, but makes the result look closer to acrylic.

Quantity

Many signs nested on full sheets use material efficiently and share set-up. A single small sign carries more of the set-up cost.

Fixings and installation

Taped panels need no installer. Stand-offs, hanging systems and installation in malls or exhibition halls add hardware and site time.

Approvals

Forex board sign rules in malls, offices and exhibitions

Indoor Forex signs rarely need a municipal permit, but they often have to meet a landlord's or venue's rules. Malls usually control promotional graphics on shopfronts and inside units, and managed towers may restrict what can be fixed in common areas. We work to the tenant design criteria and can prepare a drawing for landlord approval.

Exhibition venues set their own rules on fixing methods, stand heights and the fire performance of materials, and organisers may ask for material data before build-up. Outdoor promotional signs facing a road can need municipality approval even when temporary. We confirm the current requirement with the organiser, landlord or authority for your site.

Why Bayan Signage

Why businesses choose Bayan Signage for Forex board signs

Print and cut in-house

Large-format UV printing, laminating and CNC routing all happen in our Ajman factory, so jobs move from file to finished panel quickly.

Honest material advice

We tell you when Forex is right and when acrylic, polycarbonate, ACP or aluminium will serve you better for the money.

Large panels in one pass

We print up to 3.2 m wide in one pass, which keeps joints to a minimum on large walls and exhibition backdrops.

Arabic checked before print

Our designers check Arabic and English text before printing, because a spelling mistake on a long print run is costly.

Installation teams

Our crews fit panels in offices, malls and exhibition halls across all seven emirates, including night work where venues require it.

National retail groups and international brands are among our clients, and most of our work comes from returning customers and referrals.

FAQ

PVC Foam Board (Forex) Signs questions we are asked most

How much does Forex board printing cost in Dubai?

It depends on board thickness and size, print method, cutting complexity, edge finishing, quantity and installation. A batch of identical printed A2 notices costs far less per piece than a single large contour-cut panel with painted edges. Send your artwork and sizes, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Is Forex the same as foam board?

Not exactly. Forex is PVC foam board: a solid, rigid PVC sheet with a foam structure inside. Paper-faced foam board, sometimes called foamcore, is a light polystyrene core between paper sheets for short presentations and mock-ups. PVC foam board is tougher, water resistant and lasts much longer.

Can Forex be used outdoors in the UAE?

Only for short periods. It handles rain and humidity, but strong sun and heat make it bow, fade and yellow. It works for short promotions and events, especially in shade. For longer outdoor use, aluminium composite panel or aluminium is far more stable.

What thickness of Forex should I choose?

For most wall panels and notices, 5 mm is the best balance of stiffness, weight and cost. Use 3 mm for small signs, 10 mm for freestanding signs and large panels, and 15 to 19 mm for cut-out letters and logos. If in doubt, size up rather than down.

Can you make 3D letters from Forex?

Yes. We CNC-route 10 to 19 mm PVC foam into letters and logos for indoor walls, then paint or wrap faces and edges. They cost far less than acrylic or metal letters and suit events, short-term interiors and size mock-ups. For permanent signs, acrylic or metal looks better for longer.

How long does a Forex sign last?

Indoors, printed Forex signs typically last one to three years, longer in stable air-conditioned spaces away from direct sun. Outdoors, expect weeks to a few months depending on exposure. Laminated vinyl and thicker boards extend life, and matt laminate hides scuffs.

How quickly can you print Forex signs?

It depends on quantity and finishing: simple printed panels are the quickest, while cut-out letters with painted edges and large multi-panel walls need more steps. We give you a realistic schedule with the quote. For exhibitions, tell us the build-up date with your enquiry so we can plan production backwards from it.

Do you deliver and install Forex signs outside Dubai?

Yes. We deliver and install across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah from our factory in Ajman, including exhibition stands and mall units with night-time access.
