Office door and department signs
Engraved or printed door and wall plates with a room or department name, often with a slide-in insert so a person's name can change without a new sign.
Corporate offices and government buildingsDoor plates, room numbers and identification signs for offices, hotels, apartments and public buildings, produced as one consistent family from a full sign schedule.
Start with a sign schedule: a list of every door with its room number, room name, sign type and position, taken from the floor plans. Agree the numbering system first, then a small set of sign templates. This keeps hundreds of door signs consistent and makes later changes easy to order.
Room signs are the most numerous signs in most buildings. A mid-size office can have well over a hundred doors, a hotel many more. Ordering them one at a time leads to mismatched fonts, missing numbers and rooms named three different ways on the plans, the signs and the booking system. The fix is a single schedule that everyone works from.
We prepare that schedule from your drawings, propose a numbering system if you do not have one, and design a compact family of door plates, number signs and name panels. Production happens in our Ajman factory in acrylic, aluminium, stainless steel or brass, with UV printing, laser or rotary engraving, laser-cut digits or raised 3D letters. Our installers then fix every sign to an agreed height and position across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Offices and co-working spacesIndividual cut numbers or number plates for apartments, villas, hotel rooms and classrooms, matched in style along each corridor.
Residential towers, hotels and schoolsPremium room number plates in engraved brass, stainless steel or lit acrylic, often with a do-not-disturb indicator and an engraved or laser-cut room number.
Hotels and serviced apartmentsClear identification for back-of-house doors, plant rooms and stores, in the same style as front-of-house signs but with distinct colour.
Hotels, retail, hospitals and officesFloor number signs at stair and lift landings, block names and building numbers that help visitors confirm where they are.
Multi-block sites and towers| Format | Construction | Changeable | Typical position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat door plate | Engraved or UV printed acrylic, aluminium or brass | No, replaced when the room changes | On the door at eye level |
| Insert window plate | Frame with clear cover over a printed insert | Yes, insert slides out | Offices with changing occupants |
| Raised letter wall plate | Raised 3D acrylic or metal characters on a backing plate | Usually no | Wall beside the door, latch side |
| Occupied or vacant indicator | Sliding panel or rotating disc in a plate | Manual slider | Meeting rooms, prayer and clinic rooms |
| Projecting room sign | Double-sided panel on a wall bracket | Optional insert | Above head height in long corridors |
| Cut room numbers | Laser-cut acrylic, steel or brass digits | No | Apartment and villa doors, hotel corridors |
| Floor number sign | Large digit plate, often with raised 3D digits | No | Stair and lift landings |
A clear system, such as floor then room (305 is floor 3, room 5), helps visitors and maintenance teams. Agree it with facilities and IT before production, since booking systems and keys often use the same numbers.
List every door with its number, name, sign type and wall or door position. Mark which signs fall under accessibility rules. The schedule becomes the order, the installation plan and the reference for future changes.
Office names change far more often than room numbers. Put the permanent number on the plate and the person or team name on a slide-in insert you can print in-house.
Signs at different heights along a corridor look careless and are harder to find. Set one height and one offset from the door frame for the whole building, following your project specification.
Washroom, accessible toilet and prayer room signs should share the same style but follow their own rules. See our washroom and accessibility signs page for that detail.
Public and commercial buildings in Dubai typically follow the Dubai Universal Design Code, which covers contrast, symbols and mounting height for key room signs. The scope varies by building type, so we confirm the current requirement for your site.
Room names are usually shown in Arabic and English, while numbers stay in Western digits for consistency with keys and systems. We confirm Arabic wording, especially for department titles.
Room signs sit alongside Civil Defence evacuation plans and exit signs. We keep door plates clear of these and check that new signs do not cover any required safety signage.
Coastal humidity and frequent cleaning in hotels and hospitals can lift tapes and dull finishes. We choose fixings and sealed surfaces suited to the wall and the cleaning routine.
We take your floor plans and walk the building to list every door, its use and the wall surface beside it.
Each door gets a number, name, sign type and position in one schedule that you review and approve.
We design a small set of templates and make sample plates so you can check colour, size and finish.
Signs are produced in Ajman and packed by floor in schedule order, so each one is easy to find on site.
Our team fixes every sign to the agreed height and offset, then returns the marked-up schedule for your files.
A sign schedule is a list of every sign in a building, usually as a spreadsheet tied to the floor plans. Each line shows the door or location, the sign type, the wording in both languages, the room number and the mounting position. It is used for ordering, installation and later replacements, so the whole building stays consistent.
Door plates are often fixed on the door at eye level, while wall plates usually go beside the door on the latch side, so they stay visible when the door is open. Your project specification sets the exact height and distance from the frame, and we follow it.
Yes, if you choose insert-style plates. The plate has a clear window and a slot, and your team prints a new name on paper or card using a template we supply. The room number stays fixed. This avoids ordering a new sign every time someone moves desk or a team is renamed.
In many public and commercial buildings, yes. The Dubai Universal Design Code typically sets expectations for contrast, symbols and mounting height on signs for key rooms, washrooms, stairs and lifts. Private homes and some small offices may not need them. Requirements depend on building type and authority, so we confirm the current rule for your site with your consultant.
Yes. We make apartment numbers, villa numbers and hotel room plates in engraved brass, stainless steel, brushed aluminium, acrylic and lit options. Hotel plates can include do-not-disturb indicators and engraved or laser-cut numbers. We produce whole corridors or towers in one batch, so every number matches in size, finish and position.
The main factors are the number of signs, the material, the size and whether raised letters, lighting or changeable inserts are needed. Ordering a whole building from one schedule keeps the cost per sign lower than ordering in small batches. Send us the plans or a door count and we will quote, usually within 24 hours.
