Wall Decals & Stickers in the UAE

Wall stickers that stay put and come off cleanly

Wall stickers, or wall decals, are self-adhesive vinyl graphics applied directly to a painted wall. Cut decals are made from solid-colour vinyl, so only the letters or shapes remain and the paint shows between them; printed decals are full colour, laminated and cut around the outline of the image. Offices use them for values and room names, gyms for zone names, cafes for illustrations, schools for numbers and themes, and tenants in Dubai and Sharjah for removable feature walls.

The sticker is rarely the problem; the paint is. Many modern washable and anti-stain paints resist adhesive, fresh paint keeps releasing solvent for weeks, and sand-textured finishes give the film almost nothing to grip. A decal that looks perfect at handover can lift at the edges a month later, or pull paint away when it is removed. Before big jobs we leave test strips of different adhesives on your wall and check them before production, and we choose wall-specific films designed to bond to paint and release cleanly.

Bayan Signage has run its Ajman factory since 2016 as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has worked in the UAE for 15 years. Design, cutting, large-format printing and laminating all happen in our workshop, so a long values statement or a set of fifty classroom icons is checked against the approved layout before our crew fits it. More than 500 clients across the UAE, many of them returning, use us for wall graphics as well as signs.

Our process

How we make and fit wall stickers in our Ajman workshop

  1. Wall survey and paint check

We measure the wall, photograph it from where people will see it, and check the paint type, texture and age. On larger jobs we leave adhesive test strips on the wall and check how they hold before we print.

  2. Design and layout

Our designers size text and graphics to the viewing distance, split long quotes into natural lines, keep everything clear of switches and frames, and send a mock-up on a photo of your wall.

  3. Cut or print and laminate

Cut decals are cut and weeded from matt vinyl. Printed decals run on our large-format printers, are laminated matt or gloss, then contour-cut around the outline.

  4. Masking and quality check

Every decal is masked with application tape so the spacing holds, then checked against the approved layout for size, spelling, colour and piece count before packing.

  5. Positioning on the wall

The wall is wiped free of dust and grease. Decals are positioned with masking tape and checked with a level from across the room before the backing comes off.

  6. Application and inspection

We press each decal down with a squeegee from the centre outwards, peel the application tape back at a low angle, work out any bubbles and check every edge before handover.

Specification

Wall sticker specification: film, adhesive and finish

This is our default build for interior walls. The paint on your wall and how long the graphic needs to stay decide the final choice.

Expert advice

Advice from our wall graphics team

Wall decals are quick to fit and easy to get wrong. These are the points we raise before anything is cut.

Wait for the paint to cure

Paint that feels dry may still be curing and releasing solvent. Decals applied too soon trap that solvent, bubble, or bond so hard that they pull the paint away when removed. We ask your painter or contractor to confirm the paint has fully cured, and we allow longer in cool, humid rooms. If your opening date cannot move, we can fit an acrylic panel or a temporary graphic until the wall is ready.

Test washable paints before a big job

Some modern washable, anti-stain and very matt paints resist adhesive, and painted walls vary more than people think. Before a large decal job we leave test strips in two or three adhesives on your wall, then come back to check how they hold and release. It tells us whether a standard wall film will work, or whether we need a stronger adhesive or a different approach.

Keep text where it is read, not rubbed

Wall decals are usually read from 2 to 5 m. For a corridor quote, letter heights of 60 to 120 mm work well, with key words up to about 200 mm. We keep text between about 1,200 and 2,000 mm from the floor, where it is easy to read and above chair backs and bags, and split long quotes into two or three natural lines rather than one stretched line.

Say less, in bigger letters

Long paragraphs on walls are rarely read and are slow to fit accurately. Short messages with key words in larger type are more effective, cheaper and easier to keep straight. If you want a full values statement, give each value its own short line and a supporting icon, rather than a block of small text that looks like a printed page stuck to the wall.

Do not use decorative decals as safety signs

Glow-in-the-dark or reflective decorative vinyl looks useful in corridors and gyms, but it is no substitute for proper fire, exit or safety signage, which follows Dubai Civil Defence requirements. Keep decorative graphics clear of required safety signs so neither is mistaken for the other, and leave fire equipment, notice boards and exit routes visibly unobstructed.

Pricing

Wall sticker price in Dubai: what affects the cost

Decals are quoted from your artwork and your wall. Send us the wording or design, the wall size and a photo, and we return an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Size and quantity

Larger decals use more vinyl, but many small pieces, such as individual icons, can cost more in time because each one is cut, weeded and aligned.

Cut or printed

Single-colour cut vinyl is economical. Full-colour printed decals with laminate and contour cutting need extra steps, materials and drying time.

Design work

Finished vector files are quickest. Illustration, custom typography or adapting a brand pattern to a specific wall adds design time.

Wall condition

Smooth, cured paint is quick to work on. Walls needing repainting, filling or adhesion testing add time and sometimes extra trades.

Access and working hours

High walls, stairwells and occupied offices or schools often need towers or out-of-hours work to avoid disrupting people.

Removable or permanent film

Removable wall-grade films cost slightly more than standard vinyl, but protect the paint and your deposit when the decals come off.

Approvals

Wall stickers in rented, school and public spaces

Interior wall decals do not usually need any authority approval. In rented apartments, villas and offices, the lease often requires walls to be returned in their original condition, so we use removable wall-grade adhesives and test them first. Commercial towers and free zones such as DMCC, JAFZA and TECOM may ask for tenant fit-out approval when wall graphics form part of larger works; we confirm the requirement for your premises.

In schools, nurseries and other public buildings, decals should stay clear of fire alarm call points, extinguishers, exit signs and evacuation plans, which follow Dubai Civil Defence requirements, and large areas of graphics may need to meet the building's rules for wall finishes. We check placement against your safety signage at the survey and confirm any requirement with your facilities team or consultant.

FAQ

Wall Decals & Stickers questions we are asked most

How much do wall stickers cost in Dubai?

It depends on the size, the quantity, whether the decals are cut or printed, the design work and the wall condition. A single-colour quote on one wall is very affordable; a full set of printed classroom graphics costs more. Send us the design or wording, the wall size and a photo for an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Will wall stickers damage my paint?

Not when the right adhesive is used on fully cured, sound paint. Removable wall-grade films are designed to release cleanly. Problems come from decals applied to fresh paint, weak paint or some washable finishes, which is why we test adhesion first on larger jobs.

How soon after painting can wall stickers go on?

Only once the paint has fully cured, which takes longer in cool, humid rooms; your paint supplier's data sheet gives the figure for that product, and we check it at survey. Paint that feels dry may still be curing, and decals applied too soon can bubble or pull paint away later. If the date is tight, we can plan a temporary alternative.

Can wall stickers go on textured walls?

Smooth or lightly textured paint works well. Rough, sand-textured or heavily patterned walls give the adhesive little to grip, so decals lift at the edges or look patchy. For those walls we suggest smoothing a section or mounting the graphic on an acrylic panel instead.

How long do wall stickers last?

Typically three to seven years indoors, depending on the film and how much the wall is rubbed. Laminated printed decals resist cleaning and scuffs best. Direct sun through windows, poor-quality paint and chairs or bags rubbing the wall all shorten that.

How do I remove wall stickers?

Warm the decal gently with a hair dryer and peel it back slowly at a low angle, close to the wall. Removable wall-grade films usually come off cleanly, and any remaining adhesive can be wiped off with a mild cleaner. We can also remove and replace decals when you update your messaging.

Can you make wall stickers in Arabic?

Yes. Quotes, values and names in Arabic and English are popular. We set the Arabic as its own design, check wording and letterforms with a fluent reader, and take care with religious or cultural phrases so they are placed and used respectfully.

Do you fit wall stickers outside Dubai?

Yes. We make them in Ajman and fit across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi and the other emirates. The site survey is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and simple decals can be supplied with instructions for your own team to apply.
