Custom neon logo signs, redrawn for light

A custom neon logo sign is your brand mark rebuilt as lines of light: LED neon flex bent along a redrawn version of the logo and fixed to an acrylic or aluminium backing. It is the sign that cafes, gyms, salons, streetwear stores and creative studios put on the feature wall or behind the counter, where customers see it from two to eight metres away and photograph it. Marks with a strong silhouette and one to three colours work best: a script wordmark, a simple icon, a monogram.

Whether the finished piece looks like your brand or like a market-stall copy is decided at the drawing stage, long before any flex is cut. Neon is a single line of fixed width, usually 6 or 8 mm, so filled shapes become outlines, hairlines vanish and small taglines have to move onto the backing. Our designers trace the logo as centre lines, mark every bend, cut and crossover, and print the drawing full size so you can tape it to the wall and judge it. Colours are matched under power, never on a monitor.

Bayan Signage has run its own sign factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, since 2016, as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, a UAE group with 15 years in the market. The same building holds the CNC routers that cut our backings, the UV printers that print them, and the bench where our electricians wire and test every circuit. More than 500 clients across the UAE, most of them returning customers or referrals, have trusted us with their brand marks.

Our process

How we make a custom neon logo sign in our Ajman factory

  1. Artwork review and wall check

We study your vector logo and photos of the wall, then tell you which parts will glow, which will be printed and which should be simplified. A free site visit is available in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Neon line drawing

Our designers trace the logo as centre lines at tube width, with start points, cuts and crossovers marked. You approve a full-size print on the actual wall before production starts.

  3. CNC backing and printing

The backing is routed on our CNC machines to ±0.1 mm, with grooves where the flex sits. Printed backings go through our UV printers and are laminated where sun will reach them.

  4. Bending, joining and sealing

Fabricators cut and bend the flex along the drawing, seal each end cap and joint, and fix the runs into the routed channels so the line stays crisp and level.

  5. Wiring and full-brightness test

Our electricians wire each colour run to its driver and test the sign at full brightness for colour match and dark spots. The finished sign is checked against the approved drawing.

  6. Installation and handover

The crew that built it fixes the sign on stand-offs or brackets, hides the cable, positions the driver where it stays cool and shows you how to use the switch or controller.

Expert advice

Advice from our neon design desk

These are the points we raise when a logo file lands on our desk. Each one is cheap to settle on paper and costly to change once the flex is bent.

The smallest detail sets the size of the whole sign

With 6 mm flex, a loop or counter needs to be at least 25 to 30 mm across, and parallel strokes need 15 to 20 mm between them so the glow does not merge into one blob. If the smallest letter in your wordmark must reach about 80 mm to bend cleanly, everything else scales up around it. That simple check usually puts a typical logo at a minimum of 500 to 900 mm wide, so we work it out before you fall in love with a size.

Decide what glows, what is printed and what goes

Greys, browns, black and very dark brand colours cannot glow, and a tagline set in 10 mm type will never read as neon. We split the logo into three lists: lines that become flex, areas that are printed or cut into the backing, and details that are dropped. Agreeing those lists on the first proof is the single best way to keep the sign faithful to your brand.

Give the logo clear wall around it

Neon reads best against a plain, mid to dark surface. Leave at least a quarter of the sign's width clear on each side, away from light fittings, shelving and artwork. On a white wall, a coloured or printed backing gives the logo something to sit on by day; on dark tiles or timber, a clear backing lets the light do the work.

Treat Arabic as its own drawing

Bilingual lockups are common in the UAE, and Arabic calligraphy has fine dots, overlapping strokes and tight counters that flex cannot follow exactly. We redraw the Arabic for the tube, balance its weight against the English so neither looks like an afterthought, and check the spelling against your trade licence before anything is bent.

Specify outdoor logos as outdoor signs

A logo on a shopfront or terrace faces 45 °C air, direct sun and dust. Indoor builds on acrylic do not belong there. For outdoor positions we move to IP65 flex, sealed end caps, an aluminium or ACP backing and a ventilated driver box, and we put brand colours into the material rather than printing them, because printed colour fades fastest on west-facing walls.

Pricing

Custom neon logo sign price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We price each logo from its line drawing, so there is no fixed list. Send your vector logo, the size you have in mind and a photo of the wall, and you will usually receive an itemised quote within 24 hours.

Line length and number of bends

A monogram may use 3 m of flex; an illustrated logo of the same width can need 12 m or more, with far more bends and joints to make and seal.

Number of colours

Each colour is a separate run with its own joints and cable tail, so a three-colour logo takes noticeably longer to bend, wire and test than a single colour.

Backing finish

Clear acrylic is quickest. UV printing, coloured or mirror acrylic, routed channels and cut-to-shape outlines add machine time and careful handling.

Artwork quality

A clean vector file keeps design time short. Screenshots, photos of an old sign and bilingual lockups need redrawing before production can start.

Effects and control

Separate switching zones, pulsing, dimmers or app control add drivers, controllers and wiring to an otherwise simple sign.

Indoor or outdoor build

Outdoor logos need IP65 flex, sealed joints, a metal backing and a weatherproof driver housing, plus fixings designed for wind and heat.

Installation and access

A reception wall at head height is a short visit. A double-height wall, a mall night shift or a facade needing a tower adds labour.

Approvals

Custom neon logo approvals for malls and shopfronts

A neon logo on an interior wall usually needs no municipality permit, but malls and managed buildings often have tenant design criteria that cover illuminated elements, colour temperature, flashing effects and electrical connections. We read those criteria with you and prepare the drawing and product details the landlord or fit-out manager asks for.

Once the logo faces the street or sits on a facade, it is generally treated as an outdoor sign. In Dubai that usually means Dubai Municipality or the free-zone or master-developer authority for your area; Sharjah and Ajman signs go through the relevant municipality, and the name shown should match your trade licence. Rules differ by location, so we confirm the current requirement for your exact site.

FAQ

Custom Neon Logos questions we are asked most

How much does a custom neon logo sign cost in Dubai?

The cost depends mainly on the length of flex, the number of colours, the backing finish and whether the sign is for indoor or outdoor use. A single-colour monogram on clear acrylic costs a fraction of a large multi-colour logo on a printed backing. Send us your vector logo, the width you want and a wall photo, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Can any logo be turned into a neon sign?

Most logos can, but rarely exactly as drawn. Neon is a fixed-width line, so solid areas become outlines, fine details are simplified and small text moves onto the backing as print. Logos built on gradients, photos or dense lettering lose character, and for those we may suggest neon for the icon only, with the rest printed or made as 3D letters.

How long does it take to make a neon logo?

Most of the time goes into the drawing. Once you approve the full-size line drawing, a typical single-colour wall logo is a short production job, while multi-colour, outdoor and very large pieces take longer. We give you a realistic date with the quote, and permit time for outdoor signs is added separately.

Is LED neon flex a good choice for a logo?

For most businesses, yes. LED neon flex gives the look of traditional neon but is lighter, runs on 12 V or 24 V DC, uses far less power and copes with knocks, which suits shops, offices, cafes and anywhere people can touch the sign. It bends to tight curves for detailed logos, and a dimmer lets bars and restaurants soften the glow in the evening.

Can you make a neon logo with Arabic and English?

Yes. We redraw Arabic letterforms for the tube rather than copying the screen font, balance the weight of both scripts and check the Arabic spelling against your trade licence. Very small dots and diacritics are sometimes printed on the backing so the lit parts stay clean and even.

Can a custom neon logo be used outdoors?

Yes, if it is built for it. Outdoor logos use IP65 flex, sealed joints, an aluminium or ACP backing and a ventilated driver box, and they usually need a permit like any other outdoor sign. Neon logos we install outdoors carry our 5-year warranty on LEDs, finish and structure.

Do you deliver and install neon logos outside Dubai?

Yes. Our crews install across all seven emirates from our factory in Ajman, and the site visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. Smaller indoor logos can also be collected from the factory if you prefer to hang them yourself, with fixing instructions supplied.

What happens if part of the neon logo stops working?

Each colour runs on its own circuit, so a failed section or driver can usually be repaired without remaking the whole sign. We keep the line drawing for every logo we make, so a replacement run matches the original, and our neon sign repair team looks after every neon logo we have made and installed.
