LED neon signs give the continuous glowing line of traditional neon using a flexible silicone tube with a dense LED strip inside. The tube is bent into letters or shapes and held on a cut acrylic or aluminium backing, runs at 12 V or 24 V, stays cool to the touch and survives a knock. They suit cafe walls, salon mirrors, restaurant interiors, window lines, rooftop lounges, events and photo spots where a sign is seen up close and has to show personality.
Online, every neon sign looks the same. The difference shows months later: PVC jackets that yellow in the UAE sun, low-density strips that show dots, glued clips that let tight curves relax, push-fit caps that let water in. We use UV-stabilised silicone flex, hold the tube in routed channels so each bend keeps its radius, seal every joint with neutral-cure silicone, and size the driver with headroom so it runs cool for years.

The acrylic or aluminium backing is CNC-routed to ±0.1 mm, cut to shape or to a rectangle, with routed grooves or channels that hold every curve at its exact radius.
The silicone flex is bent by hand over a full-size print on the bench, cut only at its marked points and fixed into the channels, so the lit sign matches the approved proof.
End caps and cable tails are sealed with neutral-cure silicone. Our electricians fit a driver with about 20 percent headroom, plus a dimmer or timer if specified.
Every sign is run at full brightness in our test area, checked for even light, dark joints and colour match against the proof, then photographed lit for your approval.
Indoors we fix on stand-offs or hang from steel cables and conceal the cable route. Outdoors the driver goes in a shaded IP65 box, and every sign is tested after dark.

These are the points we raise before bending anything. Each one decides whether the finished LED neon sign looks like the proof.
Neon flex is a single line with a minimum bend radius, so thin serifs, tiny lowercase letters and tight script loops cannot be bent cleanly in 6 mm tube. Keep script loops at least 25 mm across and lettering around 80 to 100 mm x-height or larger. If the sign must be small or detailed, we suggest an edge-lit acrylic panel instead, which handles fine detail far better.
Parallel runs of tube closer than about 15 to 20 mm merge into one glow and the letters blur, especially in photos. When we redraw a logo, we open up tight counters and spacing to keep that gap. It is why a single-line neon version of a logo never looks exactly like the printed version, and why we always send a proof first.
For a cafe wall seen from 3 to 6 m, a word 600 to 1,000 mm wide is usually right; a window line aimed at pedestrians reads well with 150 to 250 mm letters. Full brightness is often too much in a small, dim room, so we fit an inline dimmer on most indoor signs. It costs very little and lets staff turn the sign up after sunset.
A plug-in sign with a clear acrylic back and push-fit caps fails on a terrace within the first summer. An outdoor LED neon sign needs sealed joints, cable glands, an IP65 driver in shade and an aluminium or ACP backing that will not warp. Where we can, we also keep the flex out of direct afternoon sun, which is what ages silicone fastest.
A beautiful sign with a white cable trailing down a feature wall looks unfinished. Decide early whether the cable is chased into the wall, run in a painted channel or dropped behind furniture to a hidden socket. On new fit-outs we ask the electrician for a fused spur at the cable exit point marked on our proof.

Cost follows the metres of flex and the number of bends and cuts, not the backing size. A busy script can use three times the tube of a block word.
A clear acrylic rectangle is quickest. Cut-to-shape outlines, coloured or mirror acrylic and routed aluminium channels add machine and finishing time.
UV-stable silicone with high LED density costs more than PVC strip, but it holds its colour and brightness for years rather than months.
Outdoor signs need sealed joints, IP65 drivers, metal backings and stronger fixings, which add materials and workshop time.
A dimmer adds very little. Flashing sections, dual colour or RGB effects add controllers, extra cable runs and programming.
A plug-in wall sign is quick to fit. Hard-wiring, concealed cables, ceiling hangs and high access add installation time.
A decorative LED neon sign inside a cafe or salon usually needs no municipality permit. A sign visible from the street, on a facade, a terrace or in a shop window, can count as outdoor advertising, which in Dubai normally needs Dubai Municipality approval, or the free-zone or master-developer authority where the building sits in their area. Sharjah and Ajman signs go through the relevant municipality.
Malls and managed buildings often add their own rules on colour, flashing effects, brightness and operating hours. Our draftsmen prepare the drawings and specification for any submission, check that trade names match your licence in Arabic and English, and follow the application through. Requirements vary by location, so we confirm them for your exact address before bending.

For cafes, shops, salons and any outdoor wall, LED neon flex is the practical choice: it runs cool at 12 V or 24 V, survives knocks, can be cut and re-terminated, and uses far less power. A diffused silicone jacket with a high LED density gives the same smooth, unbroken line people expect from neon, without the fragility. That is why every neon-style sign we build in Ajman uses LED flex.
Typically 6 to 10 W per metre of 6 mm flex, so a sign with 5 m of tube uses around 30 to 50 W. That is a small fraction of what traditional neon draws and cheap to run for long hours, which is why many cafes leave theirs on from opening to closing.
Yes. Arabic script can look superb in neon flex, but its dots, short strokes and tight joins need careful single-line drawing. We redraw the calligraphy with the bends in mind, make some dots as separate short runs where needed, and check the spelling with you before bending.
