EV Charging Signs in Dubai, Sharjah & Abu Dhabi

Bayan Signage makes EV charging signs, green bay plates, column wraps, charger instruction labels and illuminated EV signs for office basements, hotels, malls and residential towers. We fabricate every sign in our own Ajman factory and coordinate with your charge-point operator and electrician, so the signs match the final charger positions and keep petrol cars out of the bays.

EV Charging Signs in the UAE

EV charging signs that keep chargers free for charging

EV charging signs cover everything from the plate at the head of the bay to the small instruction label on the charger. The core sign is simple: an electric car and plug symbol, 'EV charging only' in Arabic and English and, ideally, a time limit. Around it sit green column wraps or wall panels, directional signs from the car park entrance, and labels explaining connector types, payment steps and a support number. Office basements, hotels, malls and residential towers across the UAE are adding them as chargers spread.

The real job of these signs is behaviour, not decoration. The most common complaint from EV drivers is a petrol car in the charging bay, or an electric car that finished charging hours ago. Clear 'while charging' wording, a strong green at eye level and a visible time limit give building management something fair to point to. We plan the wording, the bay plates and the label set together, and keep anything that will change, like an app name or helpline, on a separate replaceable label.

Bayan Signage has fabricated signs in its own factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman since 2016, as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has 15 years in the UAE. We CNC-cut and print plates, weld and powder-coat posts, and assemble illuminated signs with Samsung or Epistar IP65 LED modules, all in-house. We do not make or install the chargers themselves; we work alongside the operator or electrical contractor who does.

Our process

How we make EV charging signs in our Ajman factory

  1. Charger layout and site visit

We take the charger layout from your operator or electrician and walk the bays, routes and ramps, noting surfaces, lighting and cable paths. The visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Wording and label set

Our designers agree the bay wording, time limit and green colour scheme with you, then split the artwork into permanent signs and a replaceable label set for charger details that will change.

  3. Plates, posts and wraps

Plates are CNC-routed to ±0.1 mm and printed or faced in reflective film; posts are welded and powder-coated; column wraps are printed and laminated on our large-format machines to each column size.

  4. LED assembly and testing

For illuminated EV signs our electricians fit IP65 modules and drivers, and run every sign at full brightness in our test area before it is sealed and dispatched.

  5. Final positions confirmed

We wait until the chargers are fixed before signing the bays, because chargers sometimes move a bay during installation. Every sign is checked against the confirmed layout.

  6. Installation and handover

Our crew fixes plates and panels clear of the cable path, applies column wraps, connects lit signs to the supply your electrician provides and tests them after dark.

Expert advice

Advice from our estimating team

EV signage is new to many building managers, and the same mistakes come up again and again. These are the ones we raise first.

Write 'charging', not 'parking'

'EV parking' invites any electric car to park all day without charging, which blocks the charger for everyone else. 'EV charging only, while charging' is clearer. In Arabic the terms are new too, so we keep the wording to a few words in each language and agree the Arabic rendering with you rather than translating a long English sentence.

Put a time limit on the sign

A visible limit, such as 2 hours in a mall or 4 hours in an office basement, is the single most useful line on the plate. Without it, management has nothing to point to when a fully charged car stays in the bay long after it finished charging. Add a building management contact if you intend to enforce it, and keep the rule the same on every bay.

Sign after the chargers are fixed

Chargers often move a bay or two during installation once the electrician finds the real cable route. Signing too early leaves a green plate over a bay with no charger and a charger in an unmarked bay. We programme the bay plates and column wraps for after the chargers are fixed, and prepare everything else in the factory beforehand.

Keep operator details on a replaceable label

App names, tariffs and support numbers change when operators update their systems. If they are printed on the bay sign, every change means new signs. We put them on a separate charger label sized to a standard panel and keep the artwork on file, so an operator change becomes a quick reprint.

Protect the charger and the cable path

Keep the sign post out of the path the charging cable takes to the car's socket, and away from where doors open. A wheel stop or bollard in front of the charger costs little compared with a damaged unit and an out-of-service bay. We coordinate both with your contractor so they are installed with the signs.

Pricing

EV charging sign price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We quote from the charger layout, not a fixed list. Send the number of bays and chargers, the levels involved and a few photos, and you will usually receive an itemised quote, separating signs, wraps, lighting and installation, within 24 hours.

Number of bays and levels

A plate and a label per bay is the baseline. Chargers spread across several levels need directional signs, which can double the piece count.

Bay identity

A single post or wall plate is the most economical; adding green column wraps or a lit panel per bay costs more but is far more visible.

Illumination

Lit EV signs need LED modules, drivers, a sealed cabinet and coordination with the electrician on supply and switching.

Operator branding

Matching a charge-point operator's colours and logos is straightforward but usually adds a proofing round or two.

Protection hardware

Wheel stops and bollards are separate items, and fixing them into a post-tensioned slab may need scanning or a base-plate solution.

Mounting surfaces

Painted columns, cladding and blockwork each need a different fixing or vinyl, and post-tensioned slabs may need scanning before posts go in.

Approvals

EV charging sign approvals and landlord rules

EV charging signs inside a private basement or plot usually do not need a municipality permit, but malls, master communities, free zones and landlords often approve anything in common areas and may set the colour, symbol and wording for EV bays. Illuminated signs or signs facing a public road can be treated differently by Dubai Municipality or the relevant authority. We confirm the current requirement for your site before production.

The chargers themselves are approved and connected by your electrical contractor or charge-point operator under the utility's rules, which is outside our scope. Where the operator has a signage guideline, we work to it exactly, and we agree power points and cable routes for any lit sign with your electrician before fabrication starts.

Why Bayan Signage

Why building managers choose Bayan Signage for EV charging signs

Signs, wraps and labels together

Bay plates, column wraps, directional signs and charger labels are planned as one set, so wording and colours match on every level.

Lit signs built and tested in-house

Our electricians assemble illuminated EV signs with IP65 modules and test each one at full brightness before it leaves Ajman.

5-year outdoor warranty

Outdoor posts, frames, LEDs and powder coat are covered for 5 years, with a warranty document at handover.

Easy updates for operators

Changeable charger labels and kept artwork mean new app or support details are a quick reprint, not a new sign.

Coordinated with your contractor

We programme our work around the charger installation and agree power and positions with your electrician, so nothing is signed twice.

One team for the car park

EV, reserved, accessible, bay number and entrance signs can be made and installed together, with one project manager.

FAQ

EV Charging Signs questions we are asked most

What colour are EV charging bays in the UAE?

Green is the most common colour, shown on the bay plate, column or wall with a white EV symbol. It is widely recognised but not universal, and malls, communities and charge-point operators sometimes set their own colours. We confirm the current requirement for your site before producing any signs.

How much do EV charging signs cost in Dubai?

The cost depends on the number of bays, the plate and wrap formats, whether you need directional or illuminated signs, and the mounting surfaces. A few bays with post signs is a small job; a full set with lit panels and column wraps across several mall levels is larger. Send the charger layout and we will quote within 24 hours.

Can I stop petrol cars parking in EV bays?

Signs, green column wraps and clear 'charging only' wording reduce it significantly, especially where the same people park every day. On private property the owner sets the rules and enforces them through security or building management. A time limit and a contact number on the sign make that enforcement much easier.

Should the EV sign show the connector type?

It helps where chargers differ. Showing Type 2 or CCS2 and the rated power in kW lets drivers know what to expect before they park. We put these details on the charger label rather than the bay sign, so they can be updated if the charger is upgraded or replaced.

Do you install the EV chargers as well?

No. We make and install the signs, labels and column wraps, and we work alongside the electrical contractor or charge-point operator who supplies and connects the chargers. Coordinating early means the signs match the final charger positions and any lit sign has a power point waiting for it.

Can EV charging signs be illuminated?

Yes. A lit EV sign above the bays or a backlit panel near the ramp makes chargers easy to find in large basements. We build them with Samsung or Epistar IP65 modules, test them in our factory and fit a timer or motion sensor where you want to save power. They need a supply your electrician provides.

Do EV charging signs need approval?

Signs inside a private basement or plot usually do not need a municipality permit, but landlords, malls and communities often approve anything in common areas. Lit signs or signs facing a public road can be treated differently. We confirm the current requirement for your site before work starts.

Which areas do you cover?

We make every sign in Ajman and install across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. The site visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. For operators rolling out chargers at several sites, we keep one artwork set so every location matches.
