Parking Tariff Boards in Dubai, Sharjah & Ajman

Bayan Signage designs and builds parking tariff boards for malls, hotels, hospitals, office towers and private car parks. We lay out bilingual price tables that read from a car window, fabricate lockable and illuminated cabinets in our Ajman factory, and fit changeable price strips, so a new rate is a reprint rather than a new board.

Parking Rate Boards in the UAE

Parking tariff boards drivers can read before the barrier

A parking tariff board shows what a car park costs: the rate per hour or part hour, any free period, the daily maximum, the lost ticket charge, valet and validation rules and the operating hours. It ranges from a printed aluminium panel on a post to a lockable illuminated cabinet with slide-in price strips. In private car parks at malls, hotels, hospitals and office towers it is the owner's main statement of charges, and the board most likely to be photographed when someone disputes a fee.

Readability is the whole job. Drivers read the board through a side window, from 3 to 8 m, while slowing for a barrier. A dense page of conditions is effectively invisible, prices that drift out of line with their durations get misread, and taped-over rate changes look temporary and invite arguments. We design each table for that distance, align Arabic and English so the eye runs straight down the prices, and build every changeable line as its own strip.

Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has worked in the UAE for 15 years, and our factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman has built outdoor signs since 2016. We weld galvanised posts and cabinet frames, CNC-cut faces and strips, print and laminate the tariffs, and assemble and test LED modules in-house. Outdoor boards carry our 5-year warranty on LEDs, powder coat and structure, and we keep every strip's artwork on file for the next rate change.

Our process

How we make parking tariff boards in our Ajman factory

  1. Tariff and site review

We take your tariff and terms, then visit the entrance to see where cars slow, how the barrier sits and where power is available. The visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Table layout and proof

Our designers set the tariff as an aligned bilingual table, decide which lines change, and print a full-size paper proof that we read from a car seat at the real distance.

  3. Frames and cabinets

Posts and cabinet frames are cut and welded from galvanised steel or aluminium and powder-coated to your colour. Faces and strip channels are CNC-routed to ±0.1 mm.

  4. Printing and strips

Tariff faces and strips are printed on 3M cast vinyl or backlit film and laminated against UV, so prices stay readable after years of sun.

  5. LED assembly and test

Lit cabinets are fitted with IP65 modules and ventilated drivers and run at full brightness in our test area, then checked against the approved proof.

  6. Installation and spare strips

We install the board where drivers see it before the barrier, connect it to your supply, and hand over the key, spare blank strips and the artwork reference.

Expert advice

Advice from our design team

A tariff board is a table read from a moving car. These are the layout and placement rules we apply before anything is printed.

Put the board before the barrier

A tariff read only after taking a ticket leads to complaints, reversing cars and arguments at the pay station. Drivers should see the rates before they commit. We place the board where cars naturally slow, typically 10 to 20 m before the barrier, angled towards the driver's window, and add a smaller board at each pay station for drivers on foot.

Six to eight lines, no more

Twelve lines of rates, discounts and conditions cannot be read from a car. Keep the board to the essentials: free period, hourly rate, daily maximum, lost ticket and hours, plus valet or validation if they apply. Move the full terms and conditions to a separate notice at the pay stations, where people stand and read.

Align the prices in one column

Durations on one side, prices on the other, all in a single aligned column with the same unit throughout: 'per hour' or 'first hour, then per hour', never a mix. Arabic reads right to left while numerals read left to right, so we lay out both languages together and check the alignment on a full-size proof, so no driver reads the wrong price against the wrong duration.

Make every changeable line a strip

Rates change with seasons, events and new operators. Stickers and tape over old prices peel in the heat and make the board look unofficial. A strip per line costs little at the start and turns a rate change into a reprint of two or three strips. We keep the artwork on file and include spare blank strips with every board.

Light it if the car park opens after dark

An unlit board in a dim entrance is a dispute waiting to happen. Edge-lit or backlit cabinets with a photocell switch on at dusk; a reflective face is a lower-cost option for smaller car parks. In full sun, a ventilated cabinet with drivers away from the hottest face keeps the lighting reliable through summer.

Pricing

Parking tariff board price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We price each board from your tariff and site, not a list. Send the tariff text, the number of entrances and pay stations and a few photos, and you will usually have an itemised quote, separating fabrication, electrical work and installation, within 24 hours.

Size and number of lines

Larger boards with more tariff lines use more material and strips, and need sturdier posts and foundations to stay rigid in wind.

Changeable system

A one-piece panel is cheapest at first. Slide-in strips and lockable cabinets cost more but save money every time a rate changes.

Illumination

Lit boards need LED modules, drivers, a sealed cabinet and a power supply, which adds fabrication time and electrical work on site.

Number of locations

Many sites need boards at each entrance and pay station; making them together keeps them identical and lowers the cost per board.

Foundations and fixing

Freestanding boards need foundations and scanning for buried services. Wall-mounted boards beside barriers are quicker to install.

Approvals and branding

Boards visible from a public road may need approval, and operators often require their own artwork sign-off before production.

Approvals

Parking tariff board approvals in the UAE

A parking tariff board inside a private car park usually follows the landlord's, mall's or community's signage criteria rather than a municipality permit. Boards visible from a public road, especially illuminated ones, may also need approval from Dubai Municipality, Sharjah or Ajman Municipality, or the free-zone authority. We confirm the current requirement for your site and prepare drawings where a submission is needed.

Public on-street and authority-run parking is signed by the authorities themselves, not by building owners or private operators, so we only produce boards for private and operator-managed car parks. The tariff and terms are the operator's responsibility; we print exactly the approved wording and keep a signed-off proof of every board and strip on file.

FAQ

Parking Rate Boards questions we are asked most

What information should a parking tariff board show?

The essentials are the hourly or part-hour rate, any free period, the daily maximum, the lost ticket charge and the operating hours. Valet and validation rules are worth adding if they apply. Full terms and conditions are better placed on a separate notice at the pay stations, so the board stays readable from a car.

How much does a parking tariff board cost in Dubai?

It depends on the size, the number of tariff lines, the changeable system, illumination, foundations and how many locations need boards. A wall-mounted panel with strips costs much less than a lit lockable cabinet on its own foundation. Send your tariff and photos and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Can rates be changed without a new board?

Yes. We build tariff boards with slide-in or screw-on strips, one per line, so only the changed lines are reprinted. A lockable front stops strips being removed or swapped. For operators who change rates very often, a digital display is another option, though it costs more and needs care in direct sun.

What size should a parking tariff board be?

For a typical tariff of six to eight lines read from a car at 3 to 8 m, boards around 800 x 1,200 mm are common, with prices about 50 to 75 mm high. Pay station boards read on foot can be smaller. We size every board from the actual tariff and reading distance.

Should a parking tariff board be illuminated?

If the car park is used after dark, yes. An unlit board in a dim entrance is hard to read and leads to complaints at the exit. Edge-lit or backlit cabinets with a photocell are common, and a reflective face is a lower-cost option for smaller car parks.

Do parking tariff boards need approval?

Boards inside a private car park usually follow the landlord's or mall's requirements, while boards visible from a public road may also need municipality or free-zone approval. Public on-street parking is signed by the authorities themselves. We confirm the current requirement for your site before production.

Can you match our brand or the operator's style?

Yes. Headers can carry the car park, mall or operator branding in exact colours, and frames can be powder-coated to match the facade. We keep the tariff area plain and high contrast, because readability matters more than brand detail once a driver is looking for a price.

Do you supply tariff boards across the UAE?

Yes. We build every board in Ajman and install across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. The survey is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and replacement strips can be couriered for your team to slide in.
