Digital Signage CMS & Content Set-Up in the UAE

Bayan Signage sets up the digital signage CMS, players and content behind your screens, from one lobby display to menu boards across twenty branches. The software comes from established signage platforms; our team configures it, builds bilingual templates your staff can edit safely, schedules dayparts and Ramadan hours, and checks that every screen is online before handover.

Digital signage CMS: the system behind every screen

A digital signage CMS, or content management system, is the software used to upload, arrange and schedule what plays on your screens. Images, videos and live data are built into layouts and playlists, scheduled by time, day and location, and sent to a media player at each display, which stores them and keeps playing if the connection drops. Restaurant groups, malls, clinic networks, banks, offices and retailers use one to update many screens remotely and to see that each one is working.

Screens go stale for reasons that have little to do with the software. Content is made at the wrong resolution and looks soft, loops run so long that nobody sees the offer, templates let a branch manager break the layout, and nobody owns the updates. We set the system up the other way round: native-resolution templates, loops sized to how long people actually look, user permissions that protect head-office campaigns, and a named content owner agreed at handover.

Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, a UAE group with 15 years in the market, and has run its own factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, since 2016. That matters for content: our designers already produce artwork for fascias, menus, window graphics and wall murals, checked at production size, so your screen templates match the rest of your signage. Our electricians and installers handle players and networks on site, under one project manager.

Our process

How we set up a digital signage CMS for your screens

  1. Screen and content audit

We list every screen, its size, resolution, player and location, and agree what each one must show, who updates it and how often. Screen positions and network points are checked at the site visit.

  2. Platform and player choice

We recommend cloud or on-premise, built-in or external players, and a licence tier that covers the features you will actually use, then explain the running cost.

  3. Template design

Our designers build templates at each screen's native resolution, in Arabic and English, with locked brand areas and editable zones for prices, text and images.

  4. Schedules and permissions

We set dayparts, campaigns, Ramadan and holiday hours and screen groups, and give each user only the rights they need, so local edits cannot break national campaigns.

  5. Players, network and testing

Our team installs and connects players, checks network security and offline playback, and runs every playlist on the real screens before go-live.

  6. Handover and support

We train your content owner, document the system and agree monitoring and support, from alerts only to regular content updates by our designers.

Expert advice

Advice from our content and systems team

Most screen networks we take over have the same five problems. Fixing them costs far less than new hardware.

Make content to the screen, not to the file

A 55-inch landscape LCD usually wants 1920 x 1080 pixels and 1080 x 1920 in portrait. Video plays cleanly as MP4 in H.264 or H.265 at around 8 to 15 Mbit/s for full HD without overloading the player. LED walls need their own native size, such as 1,600 x 900 or 2,880 x 960, and should never be fed stretched content from another format.

Plan the loop around how long people look

Passers-by give a screen two to five seconds; a queue gives 30 seconds to several minutes. For retail and lobby screens, a loop of 60 to 120 seconds with slides of six to ten seconds works well. A five-minute loop means most people never see your offer. Menu boards can stay static with a single moving zone.

Use templates and permissions

Templates with locked brand areas let a branch manager change a price or a message without touching the design. Role-based permissions and an approval step stop a local edit from replacing a national campaign. These two settings prevent more mistakes than any other feature.

Do not pay for a CMS you do not need

One or two screens showing the same loop for months can run from a USB stick or the screen's built-in player. A CMS earns its subscription where there are several screens or locations, or content that changes weekly. We recommend the simplest set-up that does the job.

Give one person ownership

Screens running the same tired slides for a year are ignored whatever system sits behind them. Name one content owner, refresh content at least monthly and have Ramadan, Eid and National Day campaigns built and scheduled well before the date. If nobody in-house can own it, our designers can take on regular updates.

Pricing

Digital signage CMS price in the UAE: what affects the cost

We quote set-up, licences and content separately, so you can see what is one-off and what recurs. Send us your screen list, locations and how often content changes, and you will usually receive an itemised quote within 24 hours.

Licences

Cloud platforms usually charge per screen per year; data integrations, analytics and detailed permissions often sit in higher tiers.

Players

Screens with built-in players avoid extra hardware; external players cost more but bring more power and independence from one screen brand.

Template and content design

Templates and a starter content set are one-off; regular campaign updates recur and over the years are often the largest cost.

Integrations

Linking screens to POS, booking, queue management or live feeds needs development and testing, often with the other system's provider.

Number of sites

Each location needs players connected, network checks and testing; a roll-out across branches shares set-up but adds site visits.

Support and monitoring

Alerts only, help desk support, site visits or managed content updates can be bundled into a support contract or charged as needed.

Approvals

Digital signage CMS content standards in the UAE

Content shown in public, especially advertising, is generally expected to follow UAE media content standards, and outdoor advertising has its own municipality rules on what may be shown and how often images change. Malls and landlords often want to approve content on screens in their buildings too. We help you build those checks into the approval step of the CMS.

If screens use cameras, audience analytics or collect personal data at kiosks, data protection rules may apply, and some sites, such as government and healthcare, require content and data to stay on premises. Requirements vary by emirate, free zone and building, so we confirm the current rules for your network before the system goes live.

FAQ

Digital Signage Content & CMS questions we are asked most

What does a digital signage CMS cost in the UAE?

It depends on the number of screens, the platform and licence tier, the players, the templates and content you need, and any integrations. Licences usually recur per screen per year, while set-up and templates are one-off. Send us your screen list and how often content changes, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

What is a digital signage CMS?

It is the software used to upload, arrange and schedule what plays on your screens. It runs in the cloud or on a local server, sends content to a media player at each display, lets you update screens remotely, sets playlists by time and day, and shows whether every screen is online.

Do you write your own signage software?

No. We work with established digital signage platforms and set them up for you: players, templates, schedules, permissions and monitoring. That keeps you on supported software with regular updates, and we recommend the platform that suits your network.

Cloud or on-premise CMS?

Cloud is the norm for retail, restaurants and offices, because it needs no server and updates from anywhere. On-premise suits government, healthcare and other secure sites where content and data must stay inside the building, but it needs IT support and server upkeep.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The screens keep playing. Players cache content locally and continue the last schedule until the connection returns, then sync any changes. Monitoring flags screens that have been offline, so you know which ones to check.

Can you manage our content for us?

Yes. Our designers can produce templates and campaign artwork, update prices and messages, and schedule seasonal campaigns such as Ramadan, Eid and National Day. Video can be supplied by your agency and loaded into the system by us.

Can we add more screens to the CMS later?

Yes. We size the platform, licence tier and templates for growth, so a new branch or an extra lobby display is supplied, installed and added to the right screen group without rebuilding the content. Templates made at the native resolution of each screen type carry across new locations, and permissions for new users are set at the same time.

Do you support screens across the UAE?

Yes. Content and monitoring are handled remotely for any emirate, and our crews visit sites in all seven emirates for players, networks and screens. The site visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.
