Countertop Displays in the UAE

Countertop display stands that earn their place by the till

A countertop display stand is a small branded unit that holds product on a shop counter: lip balms at a pharmacy till, phone cables at an electronics counter, chocolate at a petrol station kiosk or perfume testers on a mall kiosk. It combines a structure that holds the stock, a header with the brand and one message, and a base that stays put when customers pick an item. We make them for brands, distributors, pharmacy and retail chains, and for single shops that want a tidy counter.

Counter space is the most contested ground in the store, and cashiers quietly remove anything that slows them down. The units that survive are sized to the real counter, hold enough stock between refills, let a customer take the front item with one hand without the unit tipping, and are easy for staff to restock. The ones that get pushed aside are too tall, too fiddly or too light. We design from your product and the counter photo, then prove the design with a prototype before production.

Bayan Signage has run its factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman since 2016, as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has 15 years in the UAE. Our laser cutters and CNC routers cut acrylic, wood, aluminium and steel to ±0.1 mm, our UV printers brand the parts directly, and our fabrication specialists bond and assemble every unit in-house. That is how a rollout of hundreds of identical stands stays identical.

Our process

How we make a countertop display stand in our Ajman factory

  1. Product and counter brief

We take the actual product, or its exact dimensions and weight, plus photos of typical counters with the payment terminal in place. We also ask how many units the store sells per week.

  2. Design and 3D check

Our designers draw the unit around the pack, set tier angles and clearances, and check the footprint and height against the counter photos before showing you a 3D view.

  3. Prototype

We cut and assemble a working prototype, load it with real stock and test it: pulling the front item, refilling, knocking it and checking that nothing tips.

  4. Cutting and branding

Parts are laser-cut or CNC-routed, edges polished, and headers UV-printed direct or reverse-printed behind clear acrylic. Acrylic folds are heat-bent slowly so corners stay clear and do not crack later.

  5. Bonding, assembly and inspection

Joints are bonded with clear solvent cement or screwed and capped, then each unit is checked against the approved prototype for fit, finish and branding before packing.

  6. Packing and distribution

Units are packed flat or assembled, labelled per outlet and delivered across the emirates, or handed to your merchandising team with clear assembly steps.

Expert advice

Advice from our display design team

Most countertop units fail in the store, not the factory. These are the points we raise before drawing anything.

Ask the store how fast the product sells

Capacity should cover the time between refills. If a pharmacy sells 30 lip balms between merchandiser visits, a unit holding 24 runs empty before the next refill, and an empty unit gets removed. We size the stock count from the sales rate and refill cycle first, then design the tiers around it, usually somewhere between 24 and 48 small items.

Measure the counter, not the brand guideline

Many till counters offer only 200 to 300 mm of depth beside the payment terminal and bag space. The cashier also needs to see over the unit, so we keep total height under about 350 to 400 mm. Anything bigger than an A3 footprint tends to end up at the far edge of the counter, out of reach, or under it. Photos of three real counters tell us more than any brief.

Stop it tipping before it happens

A full unit can weigh several kilograms with most of that weight on the upper tiers. Our rule is that the base should be at least half as deep as the tallest tier is high, and we often hide a steel plate in the base on tall units. On the prototype we pull the front item from the top tier with one finger. If the unit moves, it goes back to the drawing.

Keep the header short and replaceable

At arm's length a customer reads a logo and about five words. Long benefit lists on a small header are ignored. We make the header a separate panel that slots or clips on, so the next campaign costs a new print instead of a new unit, and the stand earns its place on the counter for a year rather than a month.

Plan for the summer van

Delivery vans and storerooms in the UAE summer get far hotter than any shop. Adhesives on applied graphics can lift and thin acrylic left in a closed vehicle can warp. We choose adhesives and packing for those conditions, ship flat where we can and include storage guidance for distributors holding stock between rollouts.

Pricing

Countertop display stand price in Dubai: what affects the cost

Every unit is quoted from its drawing and quantity. Send the product, or its dimensions, counter photos, quantity and artwork, and you will receive an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Quantity

Design and prototype costs are shared across the run, so the unit price falls noticeably as the quantity rises from tens to hundreds.

Material

Foam PVC and standard acrylic are the most economical. Thick cast acrylic, mixed metal and acrylic, or sealed hardwood cost more per unit.

Complexity

Each extra tier, pocket, bend and bonded joint adds cutting and assembly time. Gravity feeds and lockable lids add parts.

Branding method

Direct UV print is the simplest finish. Reverse printing, white underlay layers, frosted logos and multi-colour headers add steps.

Lighting

An edge-lit or lit header adds LEDs, a small low-voltage power supply and cable management.

Packing and distribution

Flat-packing, assembly, per-outlet labelling and delivery across the emirates are priced separately from the units themselves.

Approvals

Mall and retailer approval for a countertop display stand

A countertop unit needs no municipal permit, but it usually needs someone's approval. Retail and pharmacy chains often set rules for supplier units on counters, including maximum footprint and height, materials and how many brands may appear together, and they may ask for a sample before agreeing to a rollout.

Malls often control what tenants and kiosk operators place on counters as part of their design criteria, sometimes down to the height and the number of units. We prepare drawings and a physical sample for those approvals. Where a unit is lit, we use low-voltage LEDs with a plug-in power supply. We confirm the specific rules with the retailer or mall before production.

Why Bayan Signage

Why brands choose Bayan Signage for countertop display stands

Made in our own factory

Laser cutting, CNC routing, heat bending, UV printing and assembly all happen at our Ajman factory, so prototypes and production runs match.

Prototype before production

Every new design is built and tested with real stock before the run, so problems are found on one unit rather than three hundred.

Designed for real counters

We work from photos of actual tills and terminals, so units fit the space a cashier will genuinely give them.

Repeatable across branches

We keep the cutting files and specification, so a repeat order next year matches the first batch exactly.

Bilingual branding

Arabic and English are laid out together on small headers, with each script sized to read at arm's length.

Trusted across the UAE

More than 500 clients across the UAE, including national retail groups and international brands, many of them repeat customers.

FAQ

Countertop Displays questions we are asked most

How much does a countertop display stand cost in Dubai?

It depends on the quantity, material, number of tiers and pockets, branding method, any lighting and how the units are packed and delivered. A run of several hundred simple acrylic units costs far less per piece than ten complex tester stands. Send us the product size, counter photos and quantity, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

What is the minimum order for custom countertop displays?

We can make a single unit for one shop, though the design and prototype cost then falls on that one piece. Most brands order from tens to hundreds of units, where the unit price drops considerably. We quote at two or three quantities so you can see the difference.

How long does it take to make countertop display stands?

The timeline depends on design approval, the prototype and the quantity, so we give a realistic programme with the quote. Simple acrylic units move quickly once the prototype is approved; mixed-material or lit units take longer. Packing and delivery to many outlets are planned as part of the schedule.

Is acrylic or cardboard better for a counter display?

Printed cardboard is cheapest for very short sampling campaigns, but it scuffs, softens in damp storerooms and rarely survives beyond a single promotion. Acrylic costs more, looks premium, shows the product and lasts for years with a replaceable header. For anything staying on the counter longer than a month, acrylic or wood usually works out cheaper per week.

Can you make a counter display with a lock or tester points?

Yes. For fragrances, earphones and other higher-value items we add lockable lids, tethered tester points, drip trays and heavier bases. These add parts and cost, so we suggest them only where the product and store need them.

How should acrylic counter displays be cleaned?

Use a soft microfibre cloth with mild soap and water. Paper towels scratch acrylic, and many glass cleaners and alcohol sprays can craze it, especially at bends and joints. We include care guidance with every order and recommend sharing it with store staff.

Can you put the brand in Arabic and English on a small header?

Yes. On small headers we usually give each script its own line and keep wording short, so both stay readable at arm's length. Our designers check the Arabic spelling and size at full scale before printing.

Do you deliver countertop displays to stores across the UAE?

Yes. We pack units per outlet in Ajman and deliver to stores in all seven emirates, or hand them to your merchandising team. The site visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman when you need us to see the counters first.
