FAQScoreboard Displays questions we are asked most
How much does an LED scoreboard cost in the UAE?
It depends on segment or matrix type, size, indoor or outdoor use, the sports supported and the structure. A segment scoreboard for a school hall costs a fraction of an outdoor full-colour board on steel columns. Send your sports, viewing distance and site details for an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.
Can one scoreboard handle several sports?
Yes. Multi-sport segment boards use configurable digits and controller modes for sports such as basketball, volleyball, futsal and handball, and matrix boards can show any layout. Cricket usually needs its own layout because of the amount of information, so grounds often have a dedicated cricket scoreboard.
Do you manufacture the scoreboard electronics?
No. The LED display units and controllers come from established manufacturers. We specify the right unit for your venue, then design and fabricate the fascia, sponsor panels and structure in our Ajman factory, and our team mounts, wires, commissions and maintains the complete scoreboard.
How bright should an outdoor scoreboard be?
Outdoor boards in direct sun typically need 5,000 nits or more to stay readable at midday, with dimming for evening games. Indoor boards need much less, usually 800 to 1,500 nits, because too much brightness causes glare for players. A light sensor that adjusts brightness automatically is worth having outdoors.
Wireless or wired controller?
Wireless controllers let the scorer sit wherever they see the play best and avoid cables across the floor or pitch. Wired controllers are simpler and avoid interference in venues with many devices. For most schools and clubs, a wireless controller with a wired backup is the practical combination.
Do outdoor scoreboards need a permit?
Large outdoor scoreboards on columns are structures, so a municipality, free-zone or community approval may be needed depending on size and location. Boards inside private grounds often have simpler requirements. We confirm what applies and prepare structural drawings if a submission is needed, so allow time for it in your programme.
Can you repair or upgrade an existing scoreboard?
Usually, yes. Dark digits, failed power supplies, broken controllers and cracked faces can often be repaired, and an old board can get new sponsor panels or a refreshed fascia. We inspect boards installed by others too, across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates.
How long does a scoreboard project take?
Indoor segment boards depend mainly on stock from the manufacturer, while outdoor boards on columns need structural drawings, steel fabrication and any approvals. Foundation and structural requirements are confirmed with your project team or main contractor at the survey stage. We give you a realistic programme with the quote.
