DB Labels for Electrical Panels in Dubai, Sharjah & Ajman

Bayan Signage makes complete distribution board labelling for towers, hospitals, villas and fit-outs across the UAE. Engraved traffolyte or UV-printed board plates, circuit charts, breaker labels and warning notices are produced in our Ajman factory from one row of your label schedule, then packed as a single set per board so plates never end up on the wrong panel.

Distribution Board Labels in the UAE

DB labels that read the same as your single line diagram

DB labels tell anyone who opens a distribution board what it is, where it is fed from and which breaker controls which circuit. A complete set usually includes a rigid identification plate such as DB-GF-01, fed from SMDB-1, a circuit chart inside the door, a label on every MCB, RCBO and isolator, and voltage or isolation warnings. Electrical contractors order them before inspection, facility teams order them after years of undocumented changes, and fit-out contractors need them for every new tenant board in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

Good board labelling depends on consistency more than material. The plate, the chart, the breaker strip, the cable tags and the drawings should all use the same reference, taken from the single line diagram, not a site nickname like kitchen board. Plates must be fixed without compromising the enclosure's IP rating, and charts must reflect the as-built board. We produce each board's plate, warnings, breaker labels and chart from one data row, so nothing drifts between items.

Bayan Signage has worked from its own factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, since 2016, as the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has 15 years in the UAE market. Because we also make cable labels, valve tags, asset tags and electrical hazard signs, a whole electrical identification package can come from one team and one schedule, with one project manager answerable for it.

Our process

How we produce DB labels in our Ajman factory

  1. Schedule and SLD check

We compare the label schedule with the single line diagram and circuit schedules, flagging boards whose references, supply sources or circuit counts disagree before any plate is printed.

  2. Survey for existing boards

On occupied buildings our team and your electrician confirm circuits on site and mark up the existing charts. The survey is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  3. Sample set for approval

One full board set, with plate, warnings, breaker strip and chart, is produced for consultant approval of colours, fonts, sizes and wording.

  4. Cutting and printing

Laminate and metal plates are engraved, or CNC-cut from aluminium or acrylic and UV-printed, warnings and breaker labels printed and laminated, and charts printed from the same data row as the plate.

  5. Packing per board

Each board's labels are checked against the schedule and packed together, with the board reference written on the outside so installers on a busy floor cannot swap plates.

  6. Fitting and update

Plates are fixed without breaching the IP rating, usually before energisation or in a planned shutdown. We keep the files, so charts can be reprinted after future changes.

Specification

Expert advice

Advice from our electrical labelling team

These are the issues we see most often on distribution boards, both on new projects and in buildings that have been modified for years.

Print the chart from the as-built board

A circuit chart printed from the design drawings is often wrong by the time the board is energised, because circuits move on site. We ask for the final circuit schedule or a marked-up copy from the electrician who terminated the board. On existing buildings we would rather survey and correct a chart than reprint a neat version of an inaccurate one.

Do not drill a sealed enclosure blindly

Screwing a plate through an IP-rated door without a gasket or sealed fixing can let in dust and moisture, and drilling near live parts is unsafe. Where the enclosure should not be drilled, we use a high-bond adhesive rated for the surface and temperature. On textured powder-coated doors, adhesive needs a smooth area or a backing plate to hold through summer.

Keep breaker text short and coded

Some breaker positions are only about 18 mm wide, which leaves room for perhaps eight characters at 3 mm. Long descriptions belong on the chart, not on the breaker label. We agree a short code per circuit, such as L1-03 or SKT-2F-04, that appears identically on the breaker, the chart and the cable label.

Plan for the next contractor

Boards change with every tenant fit-out. Leave blank lines for spare ways on each chart, keep charts in a holder that can be opened, and give the facility team the editable file. We keep a master file per board so a replacement chart next year matches the original layout instead of being handwritten on the old one.

Pricing

DB labels price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We quote per board set and per extra item. Send the label schedule or a list of boards with circuit counts, and tell us whether we fit or supply only. You receive an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Number of boards

A villa may have two boards; a tower or hospital may have hundreds. Large projects lower the unit cost but increase checking and packing work.

Items per board

A board with only a plate is simple. Charts, breaker strips, warnings and test labels add pieces to every set.

Material

Printed polyester is economical. Engraved laminate, UV-printed aluminium and acrylic cost more and are usually specified for the permanent plate.

Data preparation

A clean label schedule goes straight to production. Compiling circuit details from drawings or a site survey takes extra time.

Fixing method

Adhesive is fastest. Drilling, riveting and sealing fixings on IP-rated enclosures takes longer and needs care near live equipment.

Installation and shutdowns

Supply only is cheapest. Fitting in occupied buildings may need permits to work and planned shutdowns outside normal hours.

Approvals

DB label requirements and electrical inspection

DB labelling on UAE projects is usually defined by the electrical specification and the consultant's label schedule, and it is checked during testing, inspection and the electricity authority's connection process. Expectations differ between DEWA in Dubai, the Sharjah authority and the utilities in other emirates, and by project type, so we confirm the current requirement with your electrical consultant rather than assume one format fits every emirate.

Warning labels on boards often follow ISO 7010 based symbols in English and Arabic where the specification asks for them. Boards with more than one supply, essential and normal circuits in hospitals, or generator changeovers usually need extra notices. We add only what your schedule requires and submit a sample set before full production.

Why Bayan Signage

Why contractors choose Bayan Signage for DB labels

One set per board

Plate, warnings, breaker strip and chart are printed from one data row and packed together, so nothing is swapped between similar boards.

Cut and printed in-house

Plates are engraved, CNC-cut or UV-printed on our own machines in Ajman, with no outsourced fabrication and every set checked against the schedule.

Checked against the SLD

We cross-check references and supply sources against the single line diagram before printing, which catches errors the schedule alone would miss.

Whole electrical package

Cable labels, asset tags and electrical hazard signs come from the same team, so every reference matches across the installation.

Files kept for updates

We keep each board's master file, so charts and breaker strips can be reprinted to the same format after modifications.

Itemised quotes

Board sets, extra items, fitting and shutdown work are priced separately, usually within 24 hours of your schedule arriving.

FAQ

Distribution Board Labels questions we are asked most

How much do DB labels cost in Dubai?

The cost depends on the number of boards, how many label items each board needs, the plate material, data preparation, fixing method and whether fitting needs a shutdown. A single identification plate costs far less than a full set with chart, breaker strip and warnings. Send the schedule and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

What should a distribution board identification plate show?

Usually the board reference, such as DB-GF-01, and the supply source, such as fed from SMDB-1. Some schedules add voltage, location or the area served. Whatever the format, it should match the single line diagram so every drawing and label uses the same reference.

Should DB labels be rigid plates or printed labels?

The board identification plate is usually a rigid engraved traffolyte plate or a UV-printed aluminium or acrylic plate, screwed or riveted for permanence. Breaker labels and circuit charts are usually printed, because they change after modifications and should be cheap to replace. Where the specification is silent, we suggest that split.

Can you make circuit charts for our boards?

Yes. We produce charts listing circuit numbers, descriptions, device ratings and cable sizes, printed and laminated or as rigid acrylic, in secured holders inside the door. For existing boards we work from a marked-up copy prepared by your electrician and keep the file for later updates.

Can you label boards in an occupied building?

Yes. We survey the boards with your electrician or facility team, confirm circuits, then produce and fit the labels, often during planned shutdowns. Updating the drawings at the same time keeps records accurate for the next contractor who opens the board.

Do DB labels need to be in Arabic?

Some projects require English and Arabic, especially warning labels and government buildings, while others specify English for technical labels. On small breaker labels both scripts rarely fit, so schedules often limit Arabic to plates and warnings. We follow your specification and check every Arabic term.

What is the difference between DB labels and cable labels?

DB labels identify the board and the circuits it controls. Cable labels identify the cables leaving it, at both ends and along the route. A complete installation needs both, and producing them from one schedule keeps the board reference identical on the plate and on every cable tag.

Do you supply DB labels outside Dubai?

Yes. We supply and fit board labelling across all seven emirates from our factory in Ajman, either delivering board sets to your electrical contractor or fitting them with our own crew where access and permits allow.
