3D Letter Installation in Dubai, Sharjah & Ajman

Bayan Signage installs 3D letters on shopfronts, receptions and building facades across the UAE. The crew that fabricates your letters in our Ajman factory sets them out with a full-size template, chooses anchors for the actual wall build-up, routes cables to an accessible driver and tests every letter after dark before handover.

3D Letter Installation in the UAE

3D letter installation that lasts as long as the sign

3D letter installation is the last few hours of a job that took weeks to make, and it decides whether the sign sits level, survives a UAE summer and can be serviced later. Letters are fixed on threaded studs, stand-offs, a raceway or a hidden frame, into a wall that might be concrete, render over hollow block, ACP cladding, gypsum, stone or glass. We install for shops, clinics, restaurants, offices and towers, from 100 mm acrylic letters in a lobby to illuminated letters on a facade.

Most installation failures start behind the face. Resin injected into a hollow block runs into the void and leaves a stud with nothing to grip. Studs screwed into 4 mm ACP pull out or dimple the panel. Tape that holds on a cool morning lets go on a west-facing wall in August. A driver sealed behind finished cladding turns a simple replacement into demolition. Our installers drill a test hole before trusting any drawing, and pick the fixing for the wall that is actually there.

Bayan Signage has fabricated and installed letters from its Ajman factory since 2016, and the people who bend and wire your letters are the people who fix them to the wall. That matters on the day: they know which studs carry the load, how each letter is wired and where the drivers were designed to sit. Every set is dry-fitted to its template and checked for studs, cable tails and driver positions in our workshop, so problems are solved on a bench rather than on a ladder.

Our process

How we carry out 3D letter installation, from Ajman factory to site

  1. Survey and wall check

We measure the zone, identify the substrate, locate power and agree a driver position. Where the build-up is unclear we ask to drill a small test hole. The visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Workshop pre-install check

Each letter is checked against the approved drawing, studs confirmed straight and tight, cable tails labelled, and a full-size template made from the finished letters rather than the artwork file.

  3. Set-out to the datum

The template is taped up to the agreed datum, checked with a level and string line, measured off fixed features such as columns and door heads, and photographed for your approval before drilling.

  4. Drill, anchor and cable

Holes are drilled, blown clean and anchored to suit the wall: resin in concrete, mesh-sleeve resin in hollow block, frames behind ACP. Cables are drawn through and labelled to the driver position.

  5. Fix, align and connect

Letters are pushed onto their studs and held while the resin cures, then checked for level, spacing and stand-off. Our electrician connects the drivers in a ventilated box with an isolator.

  6. Night test and handover

The sign is tested after dark for even light and dark spots, the wall is cleaned of marks and dust, and you receive photos of the driver and isolator positions for future maintenance.

Specification

3D letter installation specification: fixings by wall type

This is how we fix letters to the walls we meet most often in the UAE. The final choice is made at the survey, once we know what is behind the finish.

Expert advice

Advice from our installation crews

These are the points our crews raise before installation day. Each one is cheap to settle in advance and expensive to fix on a ladder.

Find out what is behind the finish before ordering fixings

Many UAE shopfronts are render over hollow concrete block, and many new units are gypsum or ACP on a frame. Once painted, they look identical. We drill one small test hole in the sign zone before choosing anchors, because resin in a hollow block simply disappears and a stud that feels firm on day one loosens within months. Two minutes with a drill saves a sign that sags in its first summer.

Agree the datum in writing

On a long fascia, a baseline 10 mm off level is visible from across the road. Agree with the landlord or consultant exactly where the letters sit: height above finished floor, distance from the bulkhead edge and which feature they centre on. We measure from fixed elements such as columns and door heads as well as the ceiling, because ceilings in fit-outs are rarely level over 6 m.

Plan the driver position before the wall is closed

Drivers need ventilation and an access hatch, ideally within a few metres of the letters. If they end up sealed in a ceiling void or behind cladding, a ten-minute replacement becomes a day of cutting and making good. On a new fit-out, tell your contractor where our drivers go before the bulkhead is boarded, and ask for a hatch big enough to get a hand and a driver through.

Do not tape outdoor letters

High-bond tape looks perfect when the letters go up on a cool morning. On a south or west-facing wall in July, surface temperatures climb far above the air temperature, adhesives soften and letters creep or drop. Outdoors we use mechanical or resin fixings every time, with tape at most as a positioning aid. Indoors, small flat-cut acrylic letters on locating pins and adhesive are fine.

Large letters at height are a structural question

Once letters grow past about a metre, or go above the second floor, wind load and weight matter more than the wall finish. Those letters belong on a galvanised steel frame designed for the load and tied back to the structure, not on studs into cladding. Our draftsmen prepare the frame drawings, and the structural requirements for the fixing are confirmed with your project team or main contractor at the survey stage.

Pricing

3D letter installation cost in Dubai: what affects the price

Installation is quoted from the drawing and the survey, together with the letters we fabricate, so one quote covers the sign from factory to wall. You receive an itemised quote that separates labour, access, fixings and electrical work, usually within 24 hours of sending drawings, wall photos and the sign height.

Height and access

Ladders and towers are simple. Boom lifts, scaffolding or rope access add hire, permits and time, and on towers this can be the largest part of the cost.

Wall build-up

Solid concrete is quick to fix into. Hollow block, ACP, stone or glass need sleeves, frames or backing panels, which add materials and labour.

Number and size of letters

More letters mean more holes, studs and cable routes. Larger letters need more fixings, careful handling and sometimes lifting equipment even at modest heights.

Electrical work

A power point close behind the sign keeps wiring short. Long cable runs, new isolators, conduit or fire-stopped penetrations add electrician time.

Lighting and drivers

Non-lit letters only need fixing. Halo-lit and front-lit letters add driver housings, longer cable routes and a full illumination test on site after fixing.

Site rules and timing

Mall night shifts, community permits, method statements and the protection of finished floors and facades all affect labour hours and scheduling.

Approvals

3D letter installation permits in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi

Outdoor letters usually need an approval before they go up: Dubai Municipality, or the free-zone or master-developer authority for the area, in Dubai, and the relevant municipality in Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi. Malls, communities and building owners add their own NOC, and most ask for insurance and a method statement before any work at height. Indoor reception letters normally need only the landlord's consent.

Our draftsmen prepare the elevation, shop drawing and specification for the submission and check that the trade name matches your licence in Arabic and English. On the day, the crew carries the approval, the NOC and the method statement, and works to the site's safety rules. Requirements vary by location and change over time, so we confirm them for your exact address at the survey.

Our own electricians connect drivers, fit isolators and test every circuit after dark before we hand the finished sign over to you.

Permits and NOCs handled

Our draftsmen prepare the drawings and submissions for Dubai Municipality, Sharjah and Ajman municipalities, free-zone authorities and landlords before installation day.

5-year outdoor warranty

Outdoor letters we fabricate and install are covered for 5 years on LEDs, powder coat and structure, with a warranty document at handover.

Our installers are trained for work at height and site safety, from podium steps on a shopfront to boom lifts on a tower.

FAQ

3D Letter Installation questions we are asked most

How much does 3D letter installation cost in Dubai?

It depends on height and access, the wall build-up, the number and size of letters, the electrical work and the site's rules. A ground-floor fascia on concrete costs far less than a building name on ACP at 20 m. Send drawings, photos of the wall and the sign height, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

How long does it take to install 3D letters?

We give you a realistic installation schedule with the quote, based on access, resin cure times and any mall or building permit windows. Building names at height, large letters on frames and mall night shifts need more site time than a ground-floor shopfront. Fabricating new letters usually takes 5 to 10 working days after approval, and permit time is separate.

Can you move our Bayan letters to a new shop or wall?

Yes. We take the letters down, protect them for transport, check the studs, LEDs and drivers in our workshop and make a new template for the new wall. If the new site needs a different mounting, such as a raceway or frame, we include it in the quote and handle the permit for the new location.

Can 3D letters be fixed to ACP cladding?

Yes, but the panel alone is rarely strong enough. Small, light letters can be through-bolted with spreader plates behind. Larger letters are fixed to a hidden aluminium or steel frame that ties back through the cladding to the structure, which keeps the panels flat and the fixings secure.

Can 3D letters be fixed to glass?

Yes, usually without drilling the glass. Small indoor letters can be bonded with suitable adhesives. Larger or illuminated letters are fixed to a backing panel or frame, or to the mullions of a curtain wall, so the glass carries no load. We confirm the method at the survey.

Do I need a permit to install 3D letters outside?

Usually, yes. Outdoor signs in most emirates need municipality or free-zone approval, and malls and communities often need their own NOC as well. Indoor reception signs normally need only the landlord's approval. We prepare the drawings, handle the submission and confirm the current requirement for your site.

Will the wall be damaged if the letters are removed later?

Some marks are unavoidable, because stud holes and cable entries remain. On render they are filled and painted; on cladding they are patched or the panel is replaced. Raceway mounting reduces holes in the wall, which is why some landlords prefer it for rented units. Our sign removal service covers end-of-lease work.

Do you install 3D letters outside Dubai?

Yes. Our crews install across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah from our factory in Ajman. The site visit is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and multi-branch installations are scheduled so no site is left without a sign.
