Doctor Name Plates for Clinics in Dubai, Sharjah & Ajman

Bayan Signage makes doctor name plates for polyclinics, hospitals and specialist practices from its own factory in Ajman. We cut the frames, print the bilingual inserts and set every name from your licence list, then hand your team a locked template so a new consultant takes minutes to add, not a new sign order.

Doctor Name Plates in the UAE

Doctor name plates that keep up with your rota

A doctor name plate is the small sign beside a consultation room door that tells a patient they have found the right clinician: name and title as licensed, specialty, room number, usually in Arabic and English. Polyclinics, hospital outpatient wings, dental groups, physiotherapy centres and single-specialty practices in medical towers all need them, often dozens at a time, and all of them face the same problem. Doctors join, leave, cover leave and swap rooms far more often than the walls change.

The difference between a plate system that works and one that ends up covered in printed paper is decided at the specification stage. Which part is permanent and which part changes, how the insert is held, whether the cover glares under corridor downlights, and whether the edges survive disinfectant wipes ten times a day. In our Ajman factory we CNC-cut the frames, UV-print the faces and assemble every plate, so we can build a sample, wipe it with your cleaning products and adjust before a whole floor is made.

Bayan Signage is the production arm of Bayan Advertising, which has worked in the UAE for 15 years, and our factory at Alam Square, Industrial Area 2, Ajman has been running since 2016. Healthcare work suits the way we are organised: one project manager holds your room schedule, our designers set every bilingual name at production size, and the installation crew that assembled the plates fixes them, out of clinic hours if needed.

Our process

How we make doctor name plates in our Ajman factory

  1. Room schedule and door survey

We walk the floor with your facility team, record every room number, door type and wall finish, and note fire-rated doors that must not be drilled. Surveys are free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.

  2. Bilingual typesetting from the licence

Names, titles and specialties are set from the list you approve, matched to licence spelling, with Arabic checked by a native reader. Long Arabic names are fitted by hand, not squeezed by software.

  3. Sample plate and wipe test

We make one complete plate at full size. You hold it at the door, check readability under your corridor lights and wipe it with the products your cleaning team actually uses.

  4. CNC cutting, printing and assembly

Frames and covers are CNC-routed to ±0.1 mm so every insert fits every plate on the floor. Faces are UV-printed, raised numerals laser-cut or CNC-cut, edges polished, and each plate checked against the approved artwork.

  5. Template handover

We hand over a locked insert template with your fonts and layout, blank insert stock cut to size and the removal tool, and show the person who will maintain the names how to use them.

  6. Quiet installation

Our crew fixes plates at one consistent height using a jig, with concealed screws or high-bond tape to suit the wall, working early, late or on weekends so clinics keep running.

Expert advice

Advice from our healthcare signage team

These are the questions we ask on almost every clinic brief. Answering them at the drawing stage saves a second order three months after opening.

Fix the room, print the person

A floor of permanent, fixed names looks impressive on opening day. Then the first locum arrives, a consultant moves to the new wing, and every change becomes a fabrication order with an empty door in the meantime. Our rule is simple: anything that belongs to the room, such as the number and department, is permanent; anything that belongs to the doctor is on an insert your own team can print.

Use the licence, not the business card

Email signatures and business cards often list roles and qualifications that differ from the title the regulator recorded. We set the door wording only from the clinic's approved list, usually name, licensed title and specialty. Long lists of fellowships crowd a 250 mm plate and become unreadable at a glance; a reception board or credentials wall does that job better.

Mount on the wall, latch side

Consultation doors are often held open, which folds a door-mounted plate flat against the wall. Fire-rated doors also should not be drilled without the door supplier's approval. We fix plates on the wall beside the latch side, centred around 1,400 to 1,600 mm from the floor, and keep that height identical along the whole corridor so patients learn where to look.

Test under your own lights

Corridor downlights in clinics are bright and directional. At a 30 degree viewing angle, a clear gloss cover turns into a white patch exactly over the name. Anti-glare covers cost slightly more and solve it completely, which is why the sample plate always goes to your corridor before we cut fifty of them.

Give one person ownership of the names

Changeable plates only stay accurate if someone owns them. Before handover we agree who holds the template, where the blank stock and removal tool live, and who approves new names. Clinics that skip this end up with a mix of fonts and a handwritten note on one door within months.

Pricing

Doctor name plate price in Dubai: what affects the cost

We price every job from the room schedule, so there is no fixed price list. Send us the number of doors, a photo of a typical corridor and any interior finishes, and you will usually receive an itemised quote within 24 hours.

Fixed or changeable face

Fixed plates cost more each time a name changes, because the whole plate is remade. Changeable frames cost a little more at the start, then very little for every new doctor.

Quantity and repetition

Fifty identical frames are efficient to cut and assemble. Many different sizes or shapes on one floor add setup time for each variation.

Material and finish

Printed acrylic is the most economical. Brushed stainless, PVD colours, raised numerals and anti-glare covers add material and finishing time.

Raised numbers and logos

CNC-cut acrylic or laser-cut stainless numerals and logos bonded to the plate add cutting and assembly time, plus careful proof checks before production.

Bilingual typesetting

Long Arabic names, compound titles and several specialties per door take careful layout, which matters on a large hospital handover.

Installation conditions

Occupied hospitals often need after-hours access, contractor permits and quiet tools, which affect the installation programme and labour.

Approvals

Doctor name plate wording and accessibility rules

Name plates do not usually need a municipality permit, but the wording has a regulatory edge. Health regulators such as the DHA in Dubai, DoH in Abu Dhabi and MOHAP in the Northern Emirates typically expect a practitioner's displayed title and specialty to match the professional licence. We set wording only from your approved list and leave the final check of titles with your clinic.

Accessibility is the other consideration. In Dubai, the Universal Design Code shapes expectations for accessible room identification, such as strong contrast, clear character sizes and consistent mounting heights, and many hospital operators and medical towers have their own sign standards or landlord criteria. We confirm what applies to your building at the survey and design the plates to suit it.

Why Bayan Signage

Why clinics choose Bayan Signage for doctor name plates

Made in our own factory

CNC routing, laser cutting, UV printing and assembly all happen at our Ajman factory, so a replacement plate years later matches the original exactly.

Bilingual names set by hand

Our designers fit every Arabic and English name at production size and check it against the spelling you send, rather than letting software shrink long names.

Templates your team can use

You receive a locked insert template, cut blank stock and a short demonstration, so new doctors appear on the door the day they start.

One project manager

A single contact holds your room schedule from survey to handover, and later for the extra plates a new wing or specialty needs.

Itemised, honest quotes

Frames, inserts, raised numerals and installation are listed separately, so you can compare like for like and order spares sensibly.

Trusted across the UAE

More than 500 clients, from national retail groups to international brands, many of whom return to us for each new site.

FAQ

Doctor Name Plates questions we are asked most

How much does a doctor name plate cost in Dubai?

It depends on the material, whether the name is fixed or changeable, the quantity and any raised numerals. A floor of identical printed acrylic frames costs much less per plate than a handful of brushed stainless plates with laser-cut numbers. Send us the number of doors and a corridor photo, and we will send an itemised quote, usually within 24 hours.

Can our clinic change the doctor names ourselves?

Yes, and that is why most clinics choose a changeable system. We supply a locked template, blank inserts cut to size and a removal tool. Your staff print a new name on an office printer, slide it in behind the cover and the frame never leaves the wall. We demonstrate it at handover.

What should a doctor name plate show?

Usually the name and title exactly as licensed, the specialty and the room number, in Arabic and English. We make the room number larger than the name because patients navigate by number. Qualifications, opening hours and session times are better shown at reception, where they can be updated without touching every door.

What is the best material for clinic name plates?

For most corridors, an acrylic or aluminium frame with an anti-glare cover and a printed insert gives the best mix of cost, flexibility and cleanability. Engraved brushed stainless or brass, with the letters cut in and paint-filled, suits senior offices and specialist practices and stands up to daily wiping. In clinical zones we avoid paper edges and porous materials, because plates are wiped with disinfectant many times a day.

How long does it take to make name plates for a whole floor?

We give you a realistic schedule with the quote, based on the quantity, the finish and whether raised numerals are needed. Production starts once the sample plate and the full list of names are approved. Installation in an occupied clinic is planned around consultation hours, so we agree access windows with your facility team early.

Can new plates match our existing hospital signage?

Yes. We work from your sign standard, or from photos, measurements and an existing plate, matching profile, colour, typeface and mounting height. If the original system is discontinued, we produce a sample that matches the visible face for your approval before making the rest of the floor.

Do you supply doctor name plates outside Dubai?

Yes. We make everything in Ajman and install across all seven emirates, including Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. The site survey is free in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and for repeat orders we can courier inserts or single plates made from the drawings we keep on file.
